You know, that's exactly what is so frustrating about Avira. If they were anywhere close to actually being incompetent like the one who got exposed when they tried to make an engine of their own this year, at least you'd know what to expect.

In recent tests that show Avira lagging behind in terms of detection/protection, are they using heuristics set on high. That makes a big difference to me.

Nice wishes... by an Avast fanboy.
Next time remind me to make some "constructive criticism" on other av solutions by just employing repetitive smilies in the comments like the ones deleted in this thread.
    Bye.

I'll wait and see what happens with the new forum setup Avira Browser Safety V1.0 Beta (ABS) before reaching a conclusion one way or the other.

    This may answer your question....

    The Red Moon and Macstorm,
Now if you can stop making trash/offending and defending posts here. How do you claim me a avast fanboy? You ever read my posts in different products topics? Mind you,I have and still use avira free on some systems as a test drive.I like their protection as well.I have used Qihoo,BDAV free, fortinet,COMODO as well.I love them as well.I was just speaking in faith for avira.

Criticism is not the point. We must be AV's vs Malware.Be good and stop the defense,it doesnt help avira at all.Make some good suggestions and stuff and try to get our great old avira AV back.

I didnt speak against avira.I kept my positivity on here.I will never be a fanboy because I dont worship like some people here.I have used different AV;s regularly and I have got a taste of some AV;s by now.

Next time before making a proofless accusation get the facts right and remove the black straps from your eyes.

Thankyou for your stupid claim and oh yes that will Not end my love for Avira.

Oh man,Why you think our complain is just want to complain and are hates of avira?
I can say If we don't love Avira products we will not complain
For me I have been using Avira since version7
I love Avira products very much because it didn't affected the system resource too much
and very powerful engine and dectection
But it doesn"t mean that I should always support if Avira doing something wrong
Positive thinking is not the reason for not complain and ignore those "Mistakes"
Remember No Anti-Virus Company/No one is perfect,
the aim of our complain is wishing Avira being better and follow their past wishes and passion!
if you just keeps close your eyes on ignore those mistakes, you just lie yourselves and will not makes Avira have any future improvement
The AntiVirus market is bigger then before, customer have many choices to choose what they want to use,
close the eyes or doing anything at the backstage/mistakes.
However no reply to customer question or suggestion or complain or thinking we are hates banters,Avira just lost customer as fast ever
if you just think we are banter I just hope Avira haven't hired the guys like yourselves
I agree with not to just complain but no useful suggestion, but they are the Avira users also, they have freedom to make a voice what they think of Avira

That's the module that handles the Avira license file. I can lookup in our internal issue tracker, but I guess some bug was fixed.

BTW:APC will come into the free version. And I think I heard someone mentioning "no more popups"...

    Thanks, Stefan..great news!
Avira should not show Scan window after each detection.
It should Auto clean silently in the background.

    What do you think?

    I suggest since version 10
Hope this cleaning process(Generic Repair)will be an optional for users to choose perform or not
because it just let the scanning and remove process become slower, slower and slower
the most important is since version 12 and 13 the scanner takes a lot of time to scan the files then older version make this process much more frustrate...

Since Avira wants to kill the support forum so much, I wonder if this thread can be used as an unofficial support thread. Of course, if the umbrella corporation doesn't mind.

I don't think it's fair to Wilders to provide a free forum for Avira.

<sarcasm>I'm sure Avira Answers will be a better venue for customers or Avira would leave the forum open.<\sarcasm>

You can already configure Avira to do this, realtime scanning options, automatic quarantine on detection.

On the other hand, do you have so many detections that the slideup is a problem?

I sent an email to the person in charge for Avira Answers asking about details.

I think that functionality (configure file guard action) will be available in the free in the future.

Thanks Stefan. I am back to Avira after seeing many new features coming to Avira free and also the right move by removing the toolbars. Appreciate the good work by Avira team.
