Another vote for Sandboxie for the security and easy of use. With Comodo a close second for the level of security provided for free.

 

McAfee now they have Artemis.On the tests i have seen this will now be on par with Avira

If i had to stay on topic, i would say Online Armor v3 but i would not be fair with other great products like Defensewall v2 or MBAM.

If i stayed OT i would have to give the top nod to Tzuk's SandboxIE too. This app is a masterpiece IMHO. Easily taking on all challengers.

To all SBIE fans:

I have 1 reason for Sandboxie NOT qualifying as product of the year

SBIE seems simple as long as you flush the toilet after each browsing session (delete the Sandbox).

What when you want to keep a file. Then you move the **** out of the toilet and you are unprotected.

So every time you save file you have to make the same risk decision as for installing a program. Remember that some files contain embedded code in it (for instance media files, OLE in normal docs or PDF and XML files). While data is shared much more commenly than code. You call that effective and simple?

Please explain this to me because I really do not understand

 

Without getting too OT, why is this any different than any other security scheme? The user has as much chance of seeing a problem in SB, and if they remove it from SB to real OS, and run it, perhaps the pop-up from other security apps will also be answered 'allow'. I see your argument, but at that point, has not the user gone past the protection and taken matters into thier own hands

* program must be good but not as good as people claim.

And the AV will grow! in a few days when the next CIS version is out, which will be a beta first, you will see improvements all around!

Sure Josh, and I hope it; my only remark, my only doubt is that the av was not yet tested " on the field ", by some new, hard infection in the Web: I use it and i believe in it, but I wait for a field feedback. Very good the firewall, and I like very much Defense + !
