Since you asked that we each post only one program, I would say Avira antivirus.

Flip a coin for me for me as well. I just can't decide between two - Shadow Defender and Online Armor.

One prevents and the other forgets. Hard to beat either one but together they are quite formidable. They enable a very friendly "User" environment.

My vote is for Norton 2009. It changed the whole perspective about the yellow company.
God !! I may even recommend it to friends and family .... Never even dreamed that would ever happen.

I'll do what's requested: SandboxIE by a long shot. It works without any configuration and is almost bank-safe tight right at installation.

I only started using "good" protection software for the past 6 months because of reading about them here. I do have a few programs, but since only one is allowed, I will say SandboxIE :)

You're asking people to vote their 'product of the year', one and only one. Then you say yes, you can post more than once if you feel more deserve it... It is a bit confusing, and there is a winner because one can't help counting: If Sandboxie isn't a winner it is certainly very popular.

I discovered Wilderssecurity this year and it really was a revelation.
I learned allot and I am still learning. So almost every application everyone mentioned is still quiet new to me. The best products IMO are sandboxie, shadowdefender and malware defender. Why don't you make a poll, so everyone can really vote?

Because, if someone posts I choose A antivirus because B antivirus did not protect me as well, then it becomes a A B comparision thread and will and should be closed. That is why.

Now if you feel more then one product is worthy then post it in another post. No one is keeping count but to a new member reading this thread, it would be pretty obvious as to what most here choose to use in different areas of security.

    Ok?:)

    Here are my favorites ;)

1st - Sandboxie (really the product of the year)
2nd - Shadow Defender ( solid virtualization software)
3rd - Comodo Internet Security ( great suport , very ligth , powerful protection and for free)

Sorry only see this now , but i think it will be confusing . How about people say the product of the year in different security groups ( virtualization , hips , behavior blocking , antivirus , firewall) ? something like that.

Online Armor v3 for Vista. Powerful/easy to use firewall/HIPS, convenient features for the mobile user of untrusted networks. Good support approach including responsiveness to customer issues and direct interaction with technical team, along with extensive beta testing of releases before making them public.

My vote is for Shadow Protect Desktop.
Because when all of the others eventually fail, it will restore my clean original image.
    I hope.
    Happy New Year!
