I couldn't be happier with this product. I installed it a couple of weeks ago and no issues at all!

I use it together with WSAC and FFX 22.0 in a W8 x64 computer.

Keep it up guys! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

I'm seeing this everytime I boot XP. Anyone know what's happening?
    Code:
    Event 7000
The HitmanPro.Alert Support Driver service failed to start due to the following error:
The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

    hmpalert.exe (2.0.10.44)
    hmpalert.dll (2.0.10.44)
    hmpalert.sys (2.0.4.0)

    Update:
Looks like the following reg keys were missing causing the above event.:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_HMPALERT
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_HMPALERTSVC

I tried to preinstall hmpalert in my system build files and the keys above do not get created during the unattended install even though included in the reg file. It Looks like the necessary permissions are missing to add those keys at the time the reg file is being applied.

There might be an incompatibility with Malwarebytes' Anti-Exploit:
This sometimes occurs on Chrome startup. How will it affect HitmanPro.Alert? EMET 4.0 is also fully enabled by the way.

@erikloman any news on the update release as I'm still waiting for feedback since I haven't heard from you in a while.

    Cheers

I see version 2.0.9 listed for download. Was version 2.0.10 removed for some reason?

As I said before, I'm not so sure whether sleep mode has anything to do with the issue.
As I said, I wasn't able to reproduce the issue in any connection to sleep mode.
And even, sometimes the issue occurs right after boot and logging in, with absolutely no connection to sleep mode at all.

And also, as I reported July 22nd, the hmpalertsvc service is running nicely as the flyout issue occurs. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with that service.

As the SurfRight/ HitmanPro.Alert team didn't come with an update in a few days, as you first hoped, I guess the team must have noticed there seems to be more to the issue than sleep mode and the hmpalertsvc service.

When the SurfRight/ HitmanPro.Alert team is back from summer holidays, I hope you can have another look as the issue.

    Thanks very much
    and best regards

I am considering trying HitmanPro.Alert for the first time.

Is HitmanPro.Alert compatible with Sandboxie and AppGuard? Is HitmanPro.Alert considered 'stable'?

How do you update and why are the settings greyed out?

Just open the program while you have an internet connection. Some settings are grayed-out because they require you to allow it copies itself to the programs directory by selecting "Yes, create copy of HMP" option.

Oh wait, I thought this was the HMP thread. XD

Well, sorry for that. I don't know about HMP.Alert. But it might be the same.

It was a minor update. Changes:
    • ADDED: Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Philippine languages.
    • IMPROVED: Compatibility with Norton security products. Also fixes error 1053 during installation when a Norton product is already on the machine.

Hi, Erik is on vacation the last few weeks, but he'll will be back next week :)
I am looking into the case you were writing about and try to get the same situation reproduced in our environment. I'll get back to you later today!

Still no reply to post #641. What do you think about it markloman? ;)

Also, on my Win XP Pro SP2 box it stops Media Player Classic from loading.

Plus I can not install the new version, it refuses to install the service/driver, it just pops up the configuration-screen from the old version. o_O

Oh wonderful I'm glad you're looking into this issue cause I was getting worried, and I've forgot he was on holidays.

Thank you Markloman for keeping me in the loop.

Does it play nice with Kaspersky 2014 and VoodooShield ?

It seems to be a great security tool

    and also @ everyone else

In addition to my August 5th post
[NB please read that full August 5th post],
    in which I wrote:
And indeed, there still doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the hmpalertsvc service, according to the fact that it is running nicely as the multiple flyout issue occurs.

    However, as I noticed today,
when the multiple flyout issue reoccurred once again, and I didn't want to reboot the system to fix it,
I stopped the running hmpalertsvc service, confirmed, restarted the hmpalertsvc service, confirmed, and I noticed that fixed the multiple flyout issue.

So, even though there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the hmpalertsvc service when the multiple flyout issue occurs (as the service is running nicely), stopping and restarting the hmpalertsvc service fixes the issue, just as good as rebooting the system does.

I think SurfRight may want to know about that information, in relation to developing a fix for the flyout issue,
and for the HitmanPro.Alert users it's nice to know that stopping and restarting the hmpalertsvc service fixes the issue as good as rebooting the system does (and is much quicker, of course).

    Best regards

The problem seems to be related to the computer getting into stand-by or hibernation. In any case, I think I know where we need to look for a fix. Triggering the issue though is not that trivial as it seems to happen over time.
Thanks for the summary, look for an update in the near future :thumb:

Please, don't be too sure of that!

Please, read what I wrote earlier, in my August 5th post:
    The same applied today -
the HitmanPro.Alert multiple flyout issue occurred right after boot and logging in and opening the browser, with absolutely no connection to sleep mode whatsoever.

I know that its not only caused by stand-by/hibernate. I hope that we can trigger the issue quicker. But "right after boot" is really quick.
Thanks for your thorough reports, really appreciated. I'm confident we can solve the issue soon.
