Good to hear. I wonder how many "heavy" AVs just need time to build their cache.

For some reason, the GUI isn't loading, or it's trying to and crashing at startup. Hard to say what the conflict or problem is...

    Hey, that's one reason to use a non-cloud-AV. ;)

I can tolerate ads on a free product, but this one is really annoying. It pops up after every restart and everyday, same one.

If they want to keep the ad, fine, but at least introduce a check mark box under the message area, that says "Do not notify me about Bitdefender messages".

Their website sums up this product perfectly:

If you read it, it shouldn't appear again.
For reading, you have to either click on the popup that has opened or open main interface and click the box that says "Message from Bitdefender". That's it.

Also, it has nothing to do with commercials(that's for payed products). It's just a suggestion of another FREE product for improving your phone protection against malware.

Despite the bugs this AV has it is easily one of the most solid free AVs I have used. I believe they will improve greatly with this product. Thank you, Bitdefender.

Great, nov they starth dumb popups and ugly ass dumb letter icon over B icon that i can't even dismiss. C'mon BitDefender, stop this nonsense...

    EDIT:
How the hell do you get rid of the moronic letter icon!? Even restarting the GUI does nothing to it. FU Bitdefender, uninstalling after 10 seconds of usage...

    EDIT2:
Now "Message from Bitdefender" appeared in the GUI. CLicking it got rid of the stupid letter icon. Apparently all the last update did was introduce this garbage...

You get rid of the exclamation point thing on the icon by opening BD and clicking the "message from Bitdefender" which shows you the same Android ad that just popped up. It's dumb, but I don't see why you are so angry over this.

Because the message in the GUI didn't appear for few minutes. And having that dumb letter icon covering 1/4 of the trey icon was pissing me off.

Gotta say, I'm not thrilled with the add either. I was in San Francisco on vacation and my 71yr old mother called asking if "she should click the Bitdefender button or not"........Last thing I want to deal with on vacation. :thumbd:

It is kind of annoying. I wouldn't mind just the pop-up, but the warning icon is bad, as it implies something is wrong. Not to mention, I don't even have an Android.

I think this annoys people because it's useless ~ Snipped as per TOS ~.... This is what drove me away from Avira too. I won't use either anymore.

Ah, but it's not an ad for a paid product, just a "message" for another free program :D

I don't know people, this looks more like bashing rather than critizicing. If you find the ad annoying, don't use it. If you find it too buggy, don't use it. There are plenty of other FREE good products.

    Just saying...

It's just as annoying as it was ad in avast! for their Android AV. Especially because i was already using it. They could at least check the freaking account to see if i am already using it. The same as BitDefender could by detecting if you have an Android phone without Bitdefender tied to their account. Or no Android at all. So why show an ad for somethin you can't even use with i don't know iOS or WP7/8 !?

I did click on it and I did read it, it still appears after every restart and on a daily basis.
