Bitdefender Antivirus Free - English GUI

Either the team/s responsible for it are inept/not talking to each other, or BD Free is an attempt to annoy people into buying their paid versions. I can't help it, after this amount of time and complaints, one of those reasons has to be the case. I just don't understand what has gone on here.

How often does the ad appear each day?

 

Same here. It eventually reappears after a reboot. It's a little bit irritating.

My wife already as BDF on her tablet...on my insistence. .

Although irritating it isn't completely intrusive. Best free AV, imo.

 

Ok, I'm trying this out once again and it appears that the annoying popup/ad has gone away (version 1.0.18.1039).

I really hope they leave it without the ads, I enjoy using it much more.

 

I hope that the people on the Netherlands will also be able too install this antivirus so Bitdefender do youre best!!!

 

Does anyone know if there is any incompatibilities with this and Outpost Firewall Pro?

 

Is the Logs button still bugged? Is there still an issue with not being able to restore quarantined files?

 

I have used this combination in the past w/ no problems.

There is an update to version 1047 today, but I've not seen any
change log/revision history posted.

 

Gonzales team/Bitdefender doesn't respect the users......

They have an official thread which is hardly updated:

The users are beging for info, from BD no one gives a damn!

Shame on them, shame on this arrogant company.....

 

I think they just can't do it better. Bitdefender support has always been very poor and useless. When reporting bugs with Bitdefender IS I always got the answer: Uninstall and reinstall Bitdefender ...

Sometimes I think it would be better to stop Bitdefender company and sell the superior engine.

 

But the engine needs continuous development, performance improvements, improvements against new threats etc etc... and without a company behind the engine further development isn't possible.

 

years ago, i used BDF version 6.4, it had some annoying bugs. i bought it then just to support my fellow citizen. but the bugs drove me away and i never looked back, even if BDF has very good results in reviews/tests. over the years, it resulted that BDF software always had ridiculous bugs that were never really sorted out. i'm sorry to say but this is not tested enough software, and it remained so over the years. childish bugs, that were eventually resolved, came back a version later, other new appeared, and so on.
i guess the user Iulika came here at first because he was young and naive (no offence) - just see his first posts on this topic. later he just gave up, his lack of presence says it all.
so, i'm not surprised at all about the problems/bugs discussed here. expect them to remain unsolved (or to come back later). sadly.

 

I don't think the LOGS button issue will ever get fixed. What good is it if half the time it isn't even accessible.

 

Changelog for the 1.0.18.1047 version:
- IPM (In-Product Messaging) popup is now considered read when closing with “X” button
- fix IPM appearing as unread even though it had been previously read
- other small fixes

Regarding the IPM's, should one consider as "Commercials" the nags with free products / gifts?

Regarding the Logs issue, the next update should fix for good this annoying issue..
