I wonder if TRIM can be enabled when using the Memory buffer mode...

Also while in Memory buffer mode and Surfing the web Memory usage goes up very fast. How much Memory should be sufficient to use Memory buffer mode. I set it to 2048MB

    1. It should improve performance when in shadow mode.

    2. I should know that in another day or two. :p

I'm still not sold of the idea that this is "Tony's" doing.
I personally need a little more then an updated version to accept this, only because of "Tony's" long disappearance.
Hopefully I'm convinced of this one way or the other because I'd really like to see SD continue on, but for now 1.1.0.325 works like a charm.

I was waiting - they will change such "typo" or not - it still exists...it's not proffesional and did not ever happened to this time...but we know it's only mistake. OK...what next?
    - I was searching all pages of this thread starting from August when "Tony came back"...nobody know if is he real Tony - author and owner of SD - because there are not any arguments and solid facts to belive him
    - in all post from this time we can only find that new announced SD version will support W8 and SSD about what wrote Patrick
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showpost.php?p=2101079&postcount=1278
and...we get suddenly new version with completely another changelog o_O
    - from this thread
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=323920&highlight=cache
we can know that SD most probably is based while virtualisation on small hidden partition...RAM cache is completely new technology for SD...it's simply the revolutionary change...why nobody knew and never mentioned about it?
    - the above change must to be very important because we have "big jump" in number of SD version - from 1.1.xxx to 1.2.xxx...1.1.xx was more than 3 years...

Please...there are to many facts that something wrong is happen with SD development - we know about fake site of SD, we know about Phantom Armor and YesShield that are for me just fake apps...we know about v .331 that was released without anyone knowing on this forum...we don't know about to many things to be able easy believe.

I've been running on Windows 8 since I saw the new version released (not long, admittedly), but I'd say it's running quicker and feels smoother than the previous version, which I'd been using with one or two problems. I've not encountered any technical issues so far, just for those who want to try it out on Windows 8.

I just installed the latest version and re-enabled TRIM. I entered Shadow mode and then rebooted. Firefox was fine(wasn't in the past). Previously the settings for hiding or showing the icons on the taskbar would be reset by SD but that is fine also.

Nothing more besides that...as you can see in last hours they added in changelog support for W8...perhaps they earlier forgot about it...and they are still in December...it looks like some joke :D
Thanks for the screens...SD looks now like YesShield. And one more thing - digital signature of new SD is the same as YesShield what was noticed by my friend Marsellus

I've had a reply to my email to Tony
nb I have permission to post

    Hi Patrick,
Subject: Re: Congratulations on new release of Shadow Defender 1.2.0.346
    From: supportatshadowdefender.com
    Date: Tue, November 27, 2012 7:54 am

The new feature can use memory as write cache.
If this feature is enabled, all the changes to the protected volume
will be written into the RAM (write cache), but not the disk.
When the write cache is exhaused, all the subsequent changes will be
    written into disk seamlessly.
If there are a huge amount of memory in your system, the feature will
    increase the disk access speed.

    Best regards,
    Tony

Excellent news, if it supports SSD then I would buy it!

I understand the suspicion but I had been using .331 anyway so had already using made the step of using 'new Tony's product' if that's who it is. Main reason is the application still worked brilliantly for me.

This one is working well too and has solved my conflict with AppGuard on Windows 8. I also think the RAM cache is an excellent addition.

I know a lot will avoid it until it is proved safe but thought I'd share my experience.

    Cheers

    Chris,
Thanks for the update. Are you still using Ramdisk program for Sandboxie or just using SD to use its emmory cache without the Ram Disk program and thanks.

The file is clean. No detection on virustotal.com...
Also regarding Version .331. Has anyone noticed any suspicious behaviour while using it? I highly doubt it although there are some detections on virustotal but those are most likely false positives. If you can't find any hint regarding malicious behaviour in .331 after all this time there probably is no malicious activity going on. I guess someone would already have noticed something if there had been malicious code inside .331.....

    Hi Wendy,

    1. It should deliver somewhat faster performance. For sure it's working without noticeable delays (which plagued Wondershare's Time Freeze implementation).

    2. I've been using this new version for about 24 hours (doing everything that brought about system crashes with all prior versions) and so far this new version has been working flawlessly with my mSSD! :thumb:
