During installation of Pro trial version I noticed that the list of available countries is not sorted in alphabetical order.
Can someone report it to Avira, please?

Why is Avira better than Avast? I mean if you look at the AV-C test results Avira is crushing Avast. But Avira only uses signatures and a cloud based feature while Avast uses a sandbox, cloud, anti-exe feature etc. I don't understand why Avast is so bad in those scores.

And which of both programs is better in terms of zero day protection?

Don't be confused anymore: Multiple devices (up to 3 devices) is with our latest bundles of 2015.

Other bundles can come with different licensing options.

Consider it done (i.e. being reported). Thanks for the hint!

    Web Protection GUI glitch

Notice that on screenshot 1.jpg there is a single space between Category/categories and the text.
Also, URL text is wrapped properly and fits the box.

On screenshot 2.jpg this is not the case.
    Happens with some links...

    Please, report it to Avira.

Please, consider changing "Start Antivirus Pro" tray menu option to something like "Open Antivirus Pro" or "Open main console".
    It is already started. ;)

Thanks for this hint as well! The reason might be that "-" allows a word-wrap whilst "/" doesn't. We'll put this in the backlog, too.

Makes sense, thank you! Goes to the PM as well.

Btw the Customer Insights guys from Avira also constantly monitor https://avira.ideascale.com/ There you will find many more usability reports and you can vote for/against existing ones. But of course reporting via https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/avira.345492/ is as fine as well.

Avira has a superior engine while Avast has a dozen of mediocre shields.

Does the latest version of Avira Free still have the online essentials crap? I have to install some computer this weekend and therefore I'm looking for a crap-free AV. :thumb:

Still no issues so far. They took a lot of the suck out of Windows 8 back out and left some of the actual improvements. It still has a long way to go, but it's stable and quick for now.

Thank you Avira for the crappy launcher. That's the reason why I uninstalled Avira Free on 25 computer. :D:thumb:

When someone chooses to install an Antivirus, all we want is an ANTIVIRUS, no launcher, no optimization tools, no bloat, just an Antivirus!

Many companies now are steering towards the bloat like adding a system optimizer which has a registry cleaner and according to my past experience, it has always damaged my clean fresh system rather than clean anything. If one wants any additional tools, there are NUMEROUS tools out there whose purpose is that and only that and excel at it such as CCleaner. Why would I want a launcher or whatever from an AV??! all I want it to do is to protect me and if I double click on its icon in the taskbar to give me options, the ability to add exceptions, and that's it! Avira is the best for me, it is the only AV that gives my no system quirks, so why must Avira keep adding stuff and destroy its lean and lightweight characteristic that is has always been known for!

I have a 4 year license for Avira AV Pro. For the clients that I fix PCs for, Avira used to be the only choice I would give them for a free AV, now I can't do that and have to choose anything else BUT Avira until this has been fixed by removing OE. On the other hand, if Avira decides to include bloatware in the AV Pro as well such as a system optimizer or registry cleaner I will ask for a refund immediately for the remainder of my license and never consider Avira anymore. Many people share the same opinion. You are a Security company not a system optimizer / cleaner / bloatware

So first of all: Thank you for this productive feedback! Your message is filled with reasons why you don't like launcher and bundled stuff and this sound better than "everything sucks"! Thank you... So I'm not a PM and cannot promise that all of your mentioned points will be fixed, BUT I will take them and address it to our PM on Monday!

If I take a closer look at your feedback I understand why you don't like launcher and other stuff. Well, also if I'm a Windows user I would maybe think so too. Once again: Thank you for this useful feedback! Drop me a message at any time...

    Best,

    Arthur

Thank you for taking the effort for looking out for your customers Mr. Arthur.

You see, I and many others have multiple licenses for various AVs, for me, it seems like I am cursed, everytime I finally find a decent AV, the company does something to spoil it, don't fix what ain't broke! that's all we ask for.

Think of it from a business point of view also, the more people stop using the free AV because of this OE thing, the business goes down. Why? because there is always a chance that a free user might get converted to a paid customer if he finds the AV is really good and decides to support Avira by purchasing a PRO license. Now with this OS launcher, hundreds of people not installing Avira Free anymore, and we support people who fix PCs for a living stop recommending Avira free, that probability of them converting to a paid customer becomes less.
