trust me he is not the only one with the boot up issues myself and MANY others around the net have it also. mine is better now that i installed the latest version its not as fast as with eset or others thats for sure its still somewhat slow to boot. but still takes forever to connect to the network.

I started reporting this issue many months ago. So it's not an isolated issue.

I have all of my machines booting in 12-18 seconds now with Eset, and I am not about to 'fuss' with testing any boot issues on my main machines any longer. I just got them all to where I want them, and that's the way they are staying.

My Norton DNS filter, as well as my WOT filter are flagging Avira's site as being malicious, anyone else notice this behavior?

I'm wondering if they got HiJacked

To me it looks like your WOT is actually complaining about the norton safesearch redirection IP, not about our website.

Also checked Norton SafeWeb reputation, and it shows up perfectly clean for me. I know of no security incident, so it has probably been a temporary thing on the part of symantec, with WOT showing a general dislike towards the amazon-hosted symantec blockpage IP.

Hmmm... the Symantec DNS Server actually seems to be returning some different IP leading to the blck page. I will forward this, pretty sure it's a problem on their part though.

I am a current Avira employee and this is my personal opinion. The threat landscape and security market is changing rather quickly and therefore requires changes in company strategy to be on top of the market. Some people stick with changes and some do not, this is a normal process. We deliver great products and services and are aiming higher. There are currently about 500 people working for Avira around the globe that support the strategy!

At least we need some press about the discontinue support on Asian market
Some comments not really a garbage or spam,
those are more customer want to see and expect what avira could change itself

I'm not a fan of HTTP/URL type of scanners in my AV's if they can cause ANY slowdowns or stability issues.

I already block close to 2 billion IP addresses. (NortonDNS, Adblock Malware Database, Watchguard Trend Database, ESET Scanner, and BotRevolt) So it's not like the chances of having any malware URL be reachable is very high on my machines, and on-access detection would detect any threats if it is properly setup anyway.

Tested the free version out...nothing great..detection was good but the actual blocking of unknown files was crappy and it let everything in.Well done Avira!

Protection cloud been some months since it came in free.Still its dead feature in free verion Oh and by the way APC is not that great in terms of detecting unknown stuff they still need the support of the behaviour guard in the paid version as I could still get things past it without a peep.So its not as magical as its been marketed by the avira guys.

Oh and the fact that the avira free version still has annoying toolbar doesnt make me happy.Still 360 IS remains to be greater AV.
