Dear LowWaterMark Many thanks for such a quick reply. I fully understand the concerns. With Windows 8, Android and IOS, the world is fast moving away from laptops/desktops to tablets/phones. Won't be surprised to see pretty soon 15" tablets. Best regards,
For those who have Android phones/tablets, and who are avast! lovers, avast! has an excellent FREE OF CHARGE App., "avast! Mobile Security". https://play.google.com/store/apps/...NvbS5hdmFzdC5hbmRyb2lkLm1vYmlsZXNlY3VyaXR5Il0. The Firewall module only works with rooted phones/tablets. Best regards,
AV's for Android are not really that expensive anyway, i purchased Kaspersky for my smartphone when i had it.
Thanks, it seems it would be advisable to research the manufacturer and the carrier from the phone you want to buy to ensure you're not waiting months or even half a year to get the latest OS version(which would be dangerous if it concerns a security update) and also check how they support older phones to ensure you don't need to buy a new phone after 1 or 2 years if they decide release the update only for very recent models. I think it can be quite a task to find a good phone from a manufacturer which supplies updates fast and for older models as well in combination with a carrier that does the same.
I would just like to add since the above thread was closed, the issue regarding "that all device could be rooted.' I have also the same impression, that this can be done to all device, i.e, manually even without so called "rooting tools" as long as there are provided USB drivers for that particular device and with the use of ADB(from SDK). It's a tedious process but it's better to teach the user to learn how to boot into recovery manually since there will be times where the install will bork and the phone will be in a boot loop(which most will regard as same as bricking).
Voted for "other".......I simply love my Galaxy Note 2,but my 2nd choice would be the Galaxy S 3.....
Android eats Cupcake, Donut, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean that's why it's smarter while iPhone only eats Apple... hhmmnnn...but obviously looks "healthier". I was also wondering, why in the word that Steve Jobs are Buddhist (I noticed it in Apple's design) while he makes and sells products that are only affordable to the rich? There are obviously many other products out there that are of the same caliber, quality, features Apple has but are 3-5X more cheaper in price. iPhone are over price...and Apple Mac Pro are only for the rich.
