mantra, you can uninstall, but be aware that it will come back in the next Windows update check. Then you can hide it.

Take a look at my second post above, and see if you have the other ones too. If so, uninstall as well. They will come back!

mantra, I would do it this way. I don't mind if it comes back, because I want to see it; just a personal preference.

    Earth .... occasionally
    Hmm .... Woody's advice sounds vaguely familiar - :)

This is still the best strategy for W7 in my opinion , but never updating again is now a very close second !

I wonder what negative results might occur if I did this , and my guess is ...... none whatsoever .

I personally believe that MS are effectively doing nothing in W7 updates to maintain the security of our systems.

    As Woody Leonhard says:
As KB3134214 is a security update, it should be checked (not unchecked) and installed.

In case you're not familiar with Calvin & Hobbes, then up to the comic book store, and enjoy. :)

Installed both Win10 updates without issue.
Although I don't know why I received the second one.
I'm not using the Technical Preview version.

Oh! This update makes stability improvements for Windows 10 Version 1511 and Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 4 servicing stack.

I've installed these on several machines. It could be placebo effect but they all seem just a little faster to me after the update.

I Noticed today that the dreaded KB 2952664 was back in town (optional updates). A couple of days ago I also got the Win 10 nagware KB 3035583 again, so both have been filed in the dustbin.
I don't like the sound of KB 3138612 either ......'some improvements to Windows Update Client in Windows 7 SP1' this one is probably heading in the same direction as the others.

It's annoying that Microsoft doesn't want to say what 'improvements'.
But anyhow, installing the recent Windows Update Client probably gives you the December 2015 "enables support for additional upgrade scenarios to Windows 10" content as well, so if you skipped the December version, you may want to skip the recent one, too.
