Should this be ewido anti-malware instead of ewido anti-spyware?

    Oh!! Thanks :D

    And one more thing.

For the new version of ewido anti-spyware, an updated license code is required. Please enter your current license code in the site below to receive your new one for ewido anti-spyware 4.0. This is a free upgrade for all customers.

I thought there might of been another beta put out before the offical release but this is also good news :)

Can't seem to find why you guys changed from "anti-malware" to "anti-spyware" on the site, can someone please link me to it?

    Hi All :

I do not recall ever getting a "license code" when I downloaded the 3.5
many months ago !? Does this refer ONLY to those who paid for the program,
which includes real-time protection and automatic updates !?

I had let the 14- day trial expire, "losing" the real-time protection and
automatic updates; therefore, I had never gotten a "license code" !?

Under these circumstances, what is the recommended "procedure" to
    install the latest 4.0 ?

Have just downloaded the new ewido 4 with my new licence code to my desktop. Do I have to uninstall 3.5 version first? Or does it install over the top of it?

To play safe, it is always preferrable to uninstall the beta and then install the final version.

Mine was not a beta, it was the old 3.5 version. Do you still recommend uninstalling first?

P.S spywareblaster is not on compatability list

4.0 will run along side 3.5... But it is not recommended due to performance issues... The 4.0 setup will also prompt to uninstall 3.5 first... The 4.0 beta should be uninstalled before installing the final (including a reboot, definitely required)

Oh sorry, I have overlooked. :p

It was previously stated in another post that you can have both 3.5 and the 4.0 working together:

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=128878

And Peter has already answered in Post #12. Peter, you are so fast!!!

A new license code is required for 4.0. You can go to http://www.ewido.net/en/upgrade/ and get your new license code. :)

It works for me, a new license key with 28 digits was generated within seconds in http://www.ewido.net/en/upgrade/. No e-mail confirmation was sent. You need to write down and copy the new license key.

Uninstalled 3.5 first, installed version 4, no problems, new licence code accepted.
    Have updated and scanned.
I liked it!! Well done ewido.
    P.S. like the paranoid shredder!

I've been running the new Version 4 for a couple hours now and it's running great. It does seem to be running lighter than 3.5 and really like the new GUI...good work Ewido-ites...:thumb: :D

I have my new licence key, uninstalled version 3.5 and installed version 4.0.0.172, but cannot get a manual update of signatures. The message is: 'Error. Failed to send update request:0'. Signatures in database are: 346168.

Am I up to date please.

I was asked by the program to run update to get the help file anyway

Problem immediately above solved. I ran the FixUpdate file and it reported that Ewido didn't seem to be installed. Reinstalling Ewido was suggested. This I did over the top of the new software, and the program was updated with the latest signatures and the helpfile. I am shown as protected, so can sleep easily.

    Sorry for the panic!

the fix tool is for ewido anti-malware 3.5 not for 4.0
If you have this problem again please attach logfile.txt and error.txt thx.
