I see that they have cloud protection and frequent updates for paid product. Will this help a lot?

    It is worth buying?

Good Morning! My own experience with Avira has been a very positive one. German Engineering...haven't experienced any major bugs...and updates with the Paid version...are delivered promptly. But most important detection is Excellent and Proven. I would purchase it in a heartbeat! Sincerely...Securon

    Likewise.
Very nice product, and you can choose to install only the modules you want.

I love avira. I bought one key around chrismas and really love the fact I can use the key on my 7 computers.

Never heard about this before, so you bought a 7pc license? If not then how can you use one key (like a normal 1pc or 3pc license) on 7 computers without issues :D

The paid version is great, but the free one is much, much worse due to the lack of APC.

Light as a feather (on my computer) :thumb:

GUI and Scan Window are a little slow to load but otherwise a very good choice, particularly with the new license arrangement.

Not IMO, I have used the free, premium and internet security.
I now find the free very adequate

    APC, what is that ?

In terms of detection most AVs nowadays are pretty good, but the present package offered by Avira is very competitive indeed: excellent detection, minimal system impact, one license for all computers, and virtually bug free... Hard to beat.

Everyone? Avira has a great hate club which every two years comes up with conspiracy theories about the company spying on its customers ... But obviously the current version is so good that most trolls would find it difficult to bad mouth.

Which was the change in meantime? The AV quality (detection rates, etc), imho.
Therefore any AV if it goes better or worse, will receive the criticism which will deserves.
Only the fanboys & hateboys don't want to change their minds.....

Does anyone have any stats or info on the effectiveness of having Cloud Protection on vs. off?

Also does anyone know exactly what info Cloud Protection sends?

I'm in the process of trying to find out via Avira since there are obvious security and confidentiality concerns.
