DroidWall https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.googlecode.droidwall.free&hl=en Ps: It will not give a prompt to allow or deny a connection. The user have the option to create a whitelist or a blacklist of the applications he/she wants to allow/deny internet access, and then enforce those rules. It's possible to create individual rules for wireless and 3G access, for each application.
Maybe when they add more rules . . . but then it could affect the apps functionality. Still, i guess that with data connection blocked even if it could log any kind of info it would be impossible to send the info.
It works with the default Android browser too. It's just that they've added support for the Dolphin one.
I now have 3 AV's, AVAST, DR WEB & IKARUS. All free solutions. No trouble with my phone, no issues. Working well. Might try out DroidWall, sounds good.!!!
None for me. I bought my smartphone with Ahnlab V3 already installed and after a while I tried Dr Web for a few months. They've never found anything so I decided to go without any AV, I don't do much Internet stuff with my phone anyway.
So far only using DroidWall... anyway i only use this phone for games, and i´ll probably start using it for a couple of other things. As for calls and sms, i rely in a good old Nokia 3310
For anyone with a rooted phone and has installed a firewall, have you noticed in the logs wherein the "linux kernel", "dialer", "Google Services Framework,..." and "android system" are all trying to phone home to various IP addresses despite disabling automatic update/s?
My log is clean, but i very rarely connect to the internet with the phone and i also don´t have the automatic updates disabled.
Noob, Are you still running Kasperksy on your phone? If so, would you mind sharing your settings with me/us? Just installed it on my device again. Its a default install have not changed anything. Looking for optimal setup config if at all possible. Thanks in advance.
