I think a few things hold you back, honestly. The size of your team, which enables you to do only so much is one (sleep, food, and seeing other life forms is necessary at some point, lol). Slow updates in a world of programs that update extremely quickly (some complain too quickly) makes the project look weak and the support not likely to be there. Another is the simple fact that when ad-blocking is mentioned, what instantly pops into most heads is ABP. It's been there a long time, it updates very frequently and is available in some manner for every browser (minus IE which is soon changing), and to the eyes, it works perfectly and it's completely free. You just don't have the exposure it does by word of mouth or recent media. ABP also doesn't need "installation", and it's one less program to set up at home or work and make sure it doesn't conflict with other programs. You have a great program and I feel it does in many ways work better than the competition, but that competition simply has better exposure for the most part and is more readily available.

    Just my 2 cents :)

The size of our team is just fine. :)

The application itself doesn't need frequent updates.

People like application updates but we aren't going to release useless updates just to fulfill that desire. ;)

I release daily filters list updates, that's all that's needed. :)

We remove more than anyone else, and that's before the v5.x update...

Yeah, I understand, I was just throwing some thoughts in there. On the subject of lists updates though, how quickly are they supposed to automatically load? The reason I ask is that I've been doing manual checks and they get updated that way. Am I just timing my checks wrong and they'll load by themselves later on? It seems like they aren't.

Ad Muncher will check at most once per day.

It checks the last time you manually checked.

So you're just missing the updates. ;)

I don't know if I want to bypass a blocked page or not yet; I'm not even sure why it's blocked.

Well perhaps this is the only marketed promotion, but I have found one other discount for Ad Muncher at 20%.

Well not all people like frequent application updates, just to increase the "so called version numbers" , this trend was started by Google with its chrome browser and actually is just an eye-candy as far I can see.

Please do not go the Google way!

I am unable to confirm this.

I tested it in Opera, Chrome, firefox and IE9 and it worked without issue in all of them.

Can anyone else confirm page damage here?

Thanks for the confirmation of a working site guys.

    @NSG001
This comes to down to your system...

    Disable your custom filter list.

Also try resetting Ad Muncher back to defaults.

Thanks all for confirmation and apologies, after investigating more found to be a firewalling issue.
Keep up the good work Jeffrey and thanks again for getting back so quick :thumb:

Chrome 24 Beta and AM show the cam beautifully as well. I forgot all about that website. I'm glad you got it settled, NSG.

The one application it can't seem to keep blocking for more than a few hours is the home page in Skype. I find this really annoying because these ads are very intrusive and full of moving content.

They seem to get blocked sometimes and then within hours they are back again almost as if there is some sort of cat and mouse game being played between Ad Muncher and Skype.

Is there any way that these ads can be removed... permanently.

Skype is adamant about its ads for sure. That one might be a tough one for AM, but let's see what Jeffrey says.

Hulu is another pain. Now they encrypt ads within the datastream, so Admuncher can't pull them. Supposedly admuncher killed Hulu ads for a long time, but can't until 5.0 comes out or something.

Nothing existing yet seems to kill Hulu ads, so AM isn't alone. But AM might be the first with the solution.

And Hulu will catch up to it and start disconnecting/barring anyone with AM or any ad blocker. I don't even care that Hulu has ads during shows. What I care about is the excess of them. Some services ad blockers are just not going to work for.

Disabling ads in Hulu solves nothing. You still have to wait 30 seconds for your TV show per advertisement.

What's the point, other than to deprive the service of monetary gain?

If we are successful in removing hulu ads after v5.x they won't be able to do anything about it.

Only the first part is in doubt.

if we nail that we're golden.
