Uninstalled Prevx3 and installed - or -

tried to install the WSAPB. First I uninstalled my payed Prevx3 - no problem.

- Didnt see any x64 special download?
- The key I got in the mail didnt work?
- I didnt (try) install as administrator - but on my limited user account - does that matter?

Any suggestions?

Sign up again to get another key http://www.webroot.com/customerSupport/betaRegistration.php?lang=en and you should always install in the Admin account then use your limited accounts afterwards and it's the same Download for 32bit & 64bit!

Getting irritated that this basic things dont work. From the beta I could have expected problems - but installing.

Had to write my irritation off - forget it.

Are you having other issues then what you mentioned above? I don't use LUA I always run Admin so I don't have these issues as for the license key just reapply to get a new one!

I reapplied but maybe its officehours. I got a new key true a friends emailadress and ran the downloaded file as admin but no luck.

Will install Antivir back until this is fixed so I have some protection.

No issues at all.

I did an uninstall on my W7 x64 Home Premium SP1, and I was very impressed with the complete removal of WSA. I did an uninstall from programs and features, rebooted and checked for folders, files, registry keys and drivers.

I found no remaining folders, files or registry keys (I checked regedit myself, and did an Auslogics check too). There was one driver left over in Device Manager > View > Show hidden devices > Non Plug and play drivers. I rebooted one more time, and it was gone too..............Very nice to have a program completely uninstall itself!

 

Does that mean you are going to put it back on?

Just got the update to 7.9.0.7. No problems as far as I can tell.

 

I just have to ask this question.
I was taking the new release for a test spin on MDL.
The first time a piece of malware was able to shutdown WRSA and delete most of its files on rebbot.
I have sent a link to support.


My settings:
Apply AH before age/poularity
Heuristics all AH = High, age & popu = med

But when I change the settings to Warn when a new progr exec. that are not trusted
settings Heuristics all AH = High, age & popu = med

The malware is blocked no harm done at all.

I have noticed this to often be the case, why is this?

If this setting is more effective why is it not the standard setting, there must be down sides, if so what are they?

Edit.
I'm warned, a pop-up informs me that the program
is not recognised and blocks it(white/black listing or both) giving me the option to allow or block.
Blocking in most cases stops the malware.
I have also pressed allow, to see what happens. Almost always the malware is detected and blocked by the heuristics engine.
In this setting it appears, I have both heuristics and white/black listing at my disposal. The other setting seems to leave me more vulnerable.

Just getting more and more confused at which setting to use...

Problem solved. I have got 7904 on since a couple of minutes. The key from WSA support had a slash between every fourth digits which seemed to solv the problem. Wonder why those slashes were not there initially. Thanks for all help.

Wanted to upgrade to 7907 and right clicked the icon hoping to be able to click "search for latest update". Couldnt find that button in the GUI, but maybe I didnt look closely enough - edit: found it.

Am I supposed to upgrade to 7907? Will it be automatic?

Edit: Am I supposed to enter my Prevx paid License key instead of the beta key I got to be able to onstall the beta?

I found a "check for software update" in the "My account" option from within the GUI. It always says that I have the latest version, even when I don't though.

I'm still using the Closed Beta License key which it does have dashes! It would be best to tell the support inbox!

same thing is happening for me, when i check it tells me i have the latest version when i dont.

 

i already sent this into the support inbox like a week ago and havent gotten an update on it, i have a bug where some programs still get a firewall alert even though i have the firewall set to - Allow all processes to connect to the internet unless explicitly blocked. I already sent in a log file which they asked for using the application they sent me

 

I will update everyone here every time we release a new version to public beta. 7.9.0.7 is only for the much smaller group of users still on the closed beta.

I think it would be best for the public updating to come from me - I'll keep more on top of when releases come out to notify everyone, but this prevents confusion from coming

I made a suggestion that an option be added to give the user the ability to remove entries from the network applications list located under the firewall tab. Presently I see no way to remove an application from the network application list once it has been added to the list. It would also be of great value to have a third option of ask the user instead of only giving the option to allow or block. Are there any plans to add the above 2 options?
