    and it detects does it not, who said detection means it has to use a signature and tell u what virus it is, but it def does detect the change? and it can remove some things like IE helpers which could be from infection. and ALSO it can prevent with the registry locking feature where it can protect certain registry keys so essentially ur wrong on all fronts about a program u dont seem to know or use from the sounds of it.
