Yes, I'm getting the same thing. I just activated a new key on three machines and they all continue to show this "Protection expiring soon" message after scanning and rebooting.

And did you try shorTcircuiT's solution? https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thr...ion-update-thread.364655/page-31#post-2432189

Online Console should have correct keycode associated: https://community.webroot.com/t5/We...te/Adding-a-Keycode-into-a-Console/ta-p/20344

I had the same for a couple, three days after inputting a new key code a week or two back.

As I recall, it dropped off right after the next version update from Webroot. That said, while the "message" was still there for those few days, the tray icon no longer showed the exclamation point and the status in the GUI indicated "active" despite the obsolete warning.

There is always the option to Submit a Support Ticket
And they will likely get any issues like this sorted 'in a jiffy' :)

I contacted them twice (for different requests) in past 4 days, and both times (incl Sunday) response came back, issue sorted, within 24 hours :thumb:

More evidence for contacting support. If activation issues are occuring, then they can see what's happening best at their end, and make improvements and adjustments to improve for all. https://community.webroot.com/t5/We...message-appears-way-too-soon/m-p/157357#M8908

Yes, I tried activating the license a second time and after the scan rebooting. I also logged into the web console and added the new keycode. The PC is displayed properly in the console, but the client UI still displays the "protection expiring soon" message. I will open a ticket if the problem doesn't resolve.

Yes, the tray icon is green and the subscription is accurate in the GUI; it's just a sync problem.

I have seen this before, several times. It is overall pretty rare, but I am well familiar with it. After re-entering the key code and clicking Activate, do not run a scan. Reboot IMMEDIATELY For some reason that seems to work most of the time, but if you run a scan prior to the reboot it may not.

If it does NOT work, a simple 'clean install' will fix it.

    Copy your key code
Remain on the internet at all times
    Uninstall WSA
    Reboot
    Install WSA, allow to scan
    Reboot
    Check the status.

I would be VERY surprised if the clean install also fails to resolve the issue.

    Dear Triple Helix,

When is WSA gonna have a new interface revamp?

I'm fine with their GUI as is. Rather see them spend time with the webfilter, and increasing protection.

Personally, I do like the current interface. It is not fancy or 'glitzy', but it is well laid out, intuitive and easy to use, and does not cause bloat. Spending dev time to improve the actual software instead of the wrapper is more important to me.

an update will copy and paste what I put on webroot forums in quotes.

    "ok a quick update.

On this pc I have uninstalled webroot as was other issues as well, but I will be testing it on another pc to try and see if that has same issue and if I can work around them, the other pc is a clean installation no windows 8.1

I did submit half a dozen files or so via the web form, that form showed tho it is on other pc's so webroot should already be analysing these files?

Alot of the files with (U) next to name (mostly one's in system32) were already classified when I submitted them so I stopped submitting the ones in the system32 folder.

Also i discovered it wasnt all entirely down to webroot the slowdowns with IE, it seems the EAF+ protection in EMET 5.1 was partially to blame as well (I upgraded EMET from 4 to 5 just before installing webroot).
    "

So yes it seems EAF+ is also an IE performance killer, web root was defenitly causing issues but it wasn't entirely to blame.

In regards to the "other issues" I had noticed generic windows functions started to lag, examples.

1 - Task manager would start using more and more cpu with higher uptime, e.g. I would see a cpu spike of 5% or so after about 4 hours everytimeit updated its graph. This would go away if I restarted it, bizzare.
2 - Opening the computer window the one that shows all drives, is normally snappy but it got very laggy.

I also discovered if I went into the process page in webroot, where can choose to monitor running processes or allow them, if I toggled "any" of the processes between monitor and allowed, all the lag on the system would reset as if I was flushing some data out of webroot, but the performance gain would be temporary as eventually everything would slow again.

I was trying to use Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit with Webroot on xp but I have a conflict. MBAE will not open in Chrome if Webroot is running. I am able to use firefox with no issues. I am posting here to see if anyone is having the same issue. The following items are listed in the Webroot log. Could they be causing issues? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

    c:\program files\malwarebytes anti-exploit\mbae64.sys
    c:\mbae-setup-1.05.1.1015.exe
    c:\program files\malwarebytes anti-exploit\mbae.sys

MBAE works for me with Chrome but, as stated above, you need to set to "allow" as 1.05.1.1015 is not whitelisted by Webroot yet.

Have you checked in Webroot PC Security, Identity Protection, and Utilities/System Control to make sure MBAE is allowed?

Correct so if it's still not Whitelisted Contact Webroot Customer Service and they will whitelist the [U ] unknown files in your scan log.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will contact customer service but I think I have a different issue. When I closed Malwarebyes Malware and kept WSA running, MBAE worked. Do you think I even need to add MBAE?

I have added MBAE to the following:
    PC Security: allow mbae-svc.exe & mbae.exe
    Identity Protection: allow mbae-svc.exe & mbae.exe
    Systems Control:allow mbae-svc.exe & mbae.exe

If I have time I will ask at the MBAE forum. Thanks.

"Warn when any new program executes that is not specifically whitelisted"

If this is checked and you allow a program, will Webroot still scan and monitor it?

Are you sure that MBAE doesn't open in Chrome? I have noticed that the counter in MBAE remains at zero when I run Chrome, but it shows "Chrome is now protected" at the "Logs" page and, indeed, MBAE shows under Chrome in Process Explorer. In my case it's clearly just a counter issue and not important at all.
