F-Secure dropped a bit compared to other Bitdefender using products eScan, ESTsoft, Bullguard and Bitdefender itself.

Must be lonely at the top(-right) for Emsisoft. Very strong performance.
I'd like to know what part of the BB in EAM and/or Emsisoft's own engine is responsible for the difference with Ikarus.
Anyone having access to the full report details? I'd be much obliged.

The Emsisoft result is likely leftover from the previous six month RAP Test, not a new result.

Wiz Khalifa: Its lonely at the top got no company so...now i am just on my own
    & Ikarus too...!!
I always had a good feeling about it!!!
Emsisoft is one of the finest product right now. This is the answer for those
who were saying "LETS SEE HOW IT DOES IN THE FUTURE"
It has already been like 4 months if i am not mistaking!!!:D :D

Because Auslogics made some improvements, not just made a BitDefender clone.

Read the smallprint. :) Entries in red are tested once, the ones in black have more chance of failing as they're tested over a period of time.

    BB isn't used on VB.

With VB's RAP tests, it always seems to me as if all the products are not tested at the same time as different variations of some vendors products have score different than their IS or AV counterpart, which seems to make no sense.

Not sure what you mean. Aren't the entire results represented in the linked pic, aggregate scores from Aug2011-Feb2012?
    Thanks, but it does say;
'For each product entered for a review, we measure detection using our standard on-demand scanning procedure; this uses default product settings'
I guess that 'settings' apply only to heuristic levels like medium/high/aggressive.
So without the BB, it's Emsisoft's own engine which accounts for the difference I'd assume.

    The June-December 2011 quadrant?
Here's the previous Jun-Dec2011 results pic link but it sure does look different, if you really take a sharp look; Norman, McAfee, Sophos, GData and Trustport all seem to have traveled over the map, so what's the same?
And call me stupid, but why the  about the score?

The result for Emsisoft in the RAP chart is in RED. This means it is for only one test period due to false positives. If you look at the individual performance for Emsisoft given here: http://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archive/vendor?id=80
you see the only period it did not have false positives was Dec 2011.
As I previously stated, this was also included in the previous RAP test covering June-Dec 2011.
Emsisoft was not tested Feb 2012.

Seems that Norton are pulling out of tests.

There not in for AV-C next year either...wonder if its anything to do with the source code leak...they might be a bit nervous of its implications.

[edit] Just noticed from the link above they they weren't tested in the Jun-Dec 2011 either

Because VB testing methods are stuck in the 20th century.

Lol. Kaspersky had a FP. They're in the upper right quadrant. What's wrong with that?

Note that many in the security community still feel on demand detection is important.
    See : http://www.av-comparatives.org/forum/index.php?page=Thread&postID=3807#post3807
and the reason Symantec is not participating in Av-Comparative testing in 2012.

    Thanks Thankful, all clear now.
A wild list miss won't get you barred from the quadrant but an FP will. The quadrant pics aren't exactly shining examples of clarity with such a mix of tested (and sometimes not tested) programs and scores all combined.
An (interactive) line graph with sample set testing percentages and FP's might be a tad easier for those without a VB subscription. Like for numbnuts like me...:p

Correct, it should have been listed in black by now. Results with FP are excluded from the results. This really is a pitty. Otherwise the concept of the RAP-test is very meaningfull. Some new colour should be added (participated and passed the FP-exclusion in this RAP test) to see whether the results are relevant.
