One or several of the lists in uBlock could have been updated which is why it is blocked today, no ?

Right, these are my update stats.

ublock filters - a day ago.
    easylist - 1 hour ago
    peter lowe - 45min ago

(plus all other lists I use have received updates within the last hour, so the automatic updates works great at least.)

I guess it's possible that the "ublock filters" list that were updated a day ago, got updated yesterday for you AFTER you had visited that site, but you first see the effect of the update today when you again visit that site.

thats why i asked for an image to compare. pretty pointless now to describe what you have been seen.

    ads are inserted from "softpedia-static.com"
    ad above and left:
    Code:
    www.softpedia.com###_wlts_lead
    www.softpedia.com###_wlts

no pupups on all sites - IMO not possible
and again to point out you to read the wiki

gorhill surely could add them but why should he?
    1. It's questionable if adding more and more filterlists should be added which often overlap with existing lists to a large extent. If a user still wants to add them he/she is free to add as many as he/she wants manually.
    2. gorhill has always tried to add lists which are actively maintained. The 3rd list you mentioned was last updated in Sept. 2014, the 4th and 5th list in Jan. 2015. Adding such unmaintained lists doesn't make any sense to me.

IMO raymond reduced the number of built-in lists to reduce extension size.

Even if not maybe stopping all popups and as told in the above wiki link, might cause some difficulties like not getting new tab opened from a link, anyways this will give a global popup stopper:

    no-popups: * true

OK, so that's why it sometimes breaks stuff. Is it possible to block only scripts?

Thanks a lot, that fixed it! I really hate those FB guys. The only thing they seem to be good at is coming up with ways to annoy people.

It's to block some annoying behavior on Yahoo Finance. Of course I do need it on other sites.

I already explained why I continue to use Ghostery and NoScript next to uBlock. I think it's handy to sometimes check out the trackers that are blocked. And uBlock sometimes breaks the page layout, since it blocks more than just scripts. The good news is that they seem to work just fine together.

In my case a Global noop rule does the trick for yimg.com

    Code:
    * yimg.com * noop
This doesn't block scripts, of course, but it does stop advertising that it will occasionally spawn.

    Will check it out, thanks.

I'm not going to lie, this type of info looks too complex for me.

I don't think gorhill should add any other defaults lists...I think he's tried to arrange it to "work out of the box" for the average user and by not adding to many lists it doesn't break sites as a rule...For those that know exactly what they want it to achieve there are the extra filters and they will probably be used by those less experienced as they begin to understand what it can achieve for them over time..Don't be so lazy! :)
