u don't loose data if its saved to usb and committed to real disk at same time, TF is temporary switch due to windows update that broke SD on 1 laptop but I am so happy right now since it's a clone to my eyes if u own 1 disk, really good stuff

Ah!.....TF doesn't have any option to commit to real disk until the system is properly ShutDown :'(
While on laptops, people are too lazy to shutdown for weeks/months - just close the lid and go. When the battery becomes dead, everything is gone :(

Your idea to backup on usb is definitely of worth and on my personal system I've already attached an external portable usb hard-disk for this purpose since last year - but its just a hassle. The better option is as @majoMo described in his post if you can spare some space for data partition.

that committ doesn't work if u are a cg artist of edit videos, its main purpose is perhaps small documents, inb4 corruptions happen ppl should know, that should be mentioned on SD site

the more the strain on system the more the committ is broken
the larger the file committed the more the comitt is broken too

and its not just me, ppl who don;t use pc intensively will miss this corruption of everything randmoly

PS 1. I wouldn't deactivate anything under potential attack, usb is better, u can scan usb with multiple solutions on next shadow mode\time freeze session and there are many options of securing usbs: binisoft usb flash drives control and panda usb vaccine
    2. use external usb\drives hybrids like WD , maybe there are more resilient
