    Dear Kyle,

The issue that applied to Eraser, earlier
(see my June 16th, June 29th, July 7th and July 7th posts)
that issue now applies to CrystalDiskInfo.

Two days ago, CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 Beta appeared as 'current' in SUMo results,
I reported CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 as being Beta, by e-mail, mentioning this information:

CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 is not a regular update, but a beta.
    See:
    http://crystalmark.info/?lang=en -->
    NEWS
    [2013/05/25] CrystalDiskInfo 6 Freesia Dev8 (DL) -->
    hXXp://release.crystaldew.info/redirect.php?product=CrystalDiskInfoBeta

No CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 at the regular CrystalDiskInfo and CrystalDiskInfo download pages:
    http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html
    http://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html#CrystalDiskInfo

Soon, the SUMo database was corrected and CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 was tagged as Beta.
    So far so good.

But this morning CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 was back as 'current' in SUMo results,
the same issue as with Eraser, before,
SUMo 'forgot' the reported beta as being beta, even when previously successfully reported as beta.

However, some time later this morning, right now, checking with SUMo again,
CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 is once more no longer tagged as 'current', which is good,
but it's not tagged as Beta either, which is not as it should be.
    See:
    http://www.kcsoftwares.com/sumo/vie...stalDiskInfo&Company=Crystal Dew World&prot=2

    What is going on?

I really hope you can fix this issue once and for all.

    Thank you very much
    and best regards

    Dear Kyle,

Regarding to that what I posted earlier today concerning CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013,
right now, SUMo tags CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 Beta as 'current' once again
    (see SUMO's CrystalDiskInfo page)
while it should be Beta, as I reported.

By the time you read this post and check for yourself, the SUMo report for CrystalDiskInfo may have changed again, as it seems that SUMo alternatingly tags CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 as 'current' and then back again to 'not current', back and forth.

Please, have a look at this matter, and try to fix this recurring issue (first Eraser, now CrystalDiskInfo) once and for all.

    Thank you very much
    and best regards

    Thanks Kyle,

I notice CrystalDiskInfo 6.0.0.2013 is now successfully tagged as Beta.
    (See SUMO's CrystalDiskInfo page.)

I guess that will fix that strange alternating tagging as 'current' and then back again to 'not current', back and forth.

But what was the explanation of that strange alternating tagging as 'current' and 'not current'?

Anyway, I'm glad you fixed it. :)

    Thanks very much
    and best regards

Is SUMo similar to the updater in SlimCleaner?

    Thank you.

No, SUMo is for more advanced users and supports more than just common software. As long as somebody has it installed and SUMo can detect the version number from file properties, it should be in the database.

Basically it checks the properties of every executable in your start menu (Normal Scan) or system (In-Depth Scan) and detects their versions. Microsoft signed executables will be whitelisted by default. Then it checks online to see if anyone else have newer versions and notifies you. You can set an ignore list as well.

Have either of you every tried using the "Lite" download? No toolbars, no Homepage hijackers, no unwanted "junk". I've used it for several years now and never had ANY problems using only the "Lite" download. Try it - you might make life a little easier. :)

Don't forget portable, plus most popular freeware bundle crapware nowadays.

The only issue is RelevantKnowledge, which there's an unfortunate (monetary) dependency on.

"Getting paid" is an unfortunate necessity of life. To help discourage the use of "bundleware" amongst developers in general, don't forget to donate to the devs of all your favorite freebies. At least Kyle provides a way to opt-out of the bundleware...

Kyle, the Donate button on your website is pretty well hidden. Perhaps put a copy on the home page?

    http://www.kcsoftwares.com/?buy

Have you considered converting this to a true P2P app, instead of having to rely on your server(s) being available to exchange program data?

I would personally like to see *every* field from the file version resource added to the database (this wouldn't add much load to a P2P model vs. central server DB).

In any case, SUMo rocks!

    Thanks...

    OK !
This v3.8 made many fixes on the server-client error&performance management.
Please let me know if you find SUMo :
    - More/Less stable
    - More/less fast
    - More/less buggy :)

    Ok np.

Wish there was a way to have a software updater program to get the data real time when a program update is released. Major or minor.

Definitely more fast in checking each program if there is an update that is why I just installed 3.8 the previous version was so slow before.

It takes 5-10 minutes for server to reflect latest version of SUMo in order to filter "spurious" alerts while we're coding new versions (and our dev version reporting dev build to public server).
