SpywareBlaster 2.5.3 includes numerous minor bug fixes (including one for the Win 9x issue seen with the last update) and performance tweaks. Users will notice faster protection setting times, as well as faster performance with most other features.

You can download SpywareBlaster v2.5.3 at the official webpage:
    http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

There are currently two download mirrors to try to spread out the bandwidth load.

This update is mandatory, as it changes some important code segments (future updates would not work with 2.5.2).

    Best regards,

    -Javacool

That's very much appreciated, Mickey!. It will save us quite some bandwidth - better fasten your seatbelts as soon as your mirror has been put up on the web page ;).

    regards.

Should I uninstall older version before installing 253?

Both should work: installing over the top or uninstalling the old version first. Make sure the program isn't running while installing over the top! ;).

    regards.

In as much as i don't like yahoo, i find those yahoogroups useful for the purpose of uploading files to them.
Easy to create as many as you like with different profiles. You are allowed 20megs storage space + i don't think those idiots even monitor bandwith, but that i shall soon find out !

Be assured -JC is sound asleep right now, so it'll take some hours before your mirror is up.

Do you have a Chinese or Japanese language version of Windows? If so, this is a known issue - a workaround is posted in a thread somewhere around here...

If not, try uninstalling and reinstalling from a fresh download: http://www.wilderssecurity.net/spywareblaster.html

If that workaround does indeed work for you also, I may have a test in a day or two that you could help me with (a compatibility test to see if I have fixed this issue - as I do not have a localized version of Windows in any of the affected languages, I cannot test it myself). Could you e-mail me at javacoolsoftware@hotmail.com with an e-mail address I could e-mail a small file to? TIA. :)

    Best regards,

    hi jc

I have fixed the prob as you suggested, fyi i only run a standard version opf w98se on my laptop for internet access, i do not run the thai version of windows. i didnt realise that changing my local to thailand would affetc anything other than the time zone settings (knowing M$ I should have known better!)

If this happens again, could you send me the file? - press@wilderssecurity.net

(Or if not, your Spybot/Ad-Aware scan log?)

    TIA.

    Hi all magic men...
I,m really happy to try 2.5.3...What I,ve seen so far it stops these mean little things that tries to creep under the underwear (so far..!) I am now trying blaster as a stopper and have also Spywareguard as a scanner while surfing..That,s not all : Spybot and spysweeper(my first in this area) as doubble-doubble checking! It,s interesting to compare,,,Allright now to my question:Does Spyblaster stop following spyware files:

    sneopts.dat
    snmpapi.dll
    libimg.exe
    unvise32.exe
    ------------
    XceedFtp.dll
    windoc.sys
    MSdfCng.exe
    msegcng.exe
    ------------
    saopts.dat
    sbrowse.exe
    SystemSA32.dll
    -------------
    mstestsym.exe
    mstestsym.chm
    wmhshell.dll
    wwdtnt32.dll
    -------------
    sysdiag.exe
    nvopts.dat
    SystemSA32N.dll

    Any comments...?
