    Interesting. I don't have that phrase in the settings. I have "Automatically delete contents of sandbox", and it is checked. Could we be using to different versions? I'm using 5.46.4.

    Could you please post your Vivaldi sbie config? There has got to be something I'm missing.

    Yes it is 'Automatically delete contents of sandbox' I was hoping you would know what I meant :)
    I am using 5.46.5 but I had no issues with 5.46.4 either.
    This is an odd one.
    Perhaps untick and re-tick?
    Delete vivaldi in Leader list and re-add it again.
    Does Sbie autofind/suggest Vivaldi for you to add to Leaders? (it does for me as soon as I enter v into the box.)

    Damn, I was kinda hoping you had a different version. Vivaldi is not suggested to me as a leader program.

    The only place I have listed for recovery is downloads. I deleted the ones that were already there.

    I have just checked by redoing my default box (which opens vivaldi) it looks like this and works for recovery
    [DefaultBox]
    ConfigLevel=7
    BlockNetworkFiles=y
    Template=qWave
    Template=WindowsFontCache
    Template=BlockPorts
    Template=LingerPrograms
    Template=Chrome_Phishing_DirectAccess
    Template=Firefox_Phishing_DirectAccess
    Template=AutoRecoverIgnore
    RecoverFolder=%{374DE290-123F-4565-9164-39C4925E467B}%
    BorderColor=#00FFFF,ttl
    Enabled=y
    AutoDelete=y
    NeverDelete=n
    LeaderProcess=vivaldi.exe
    Perhaps it's something you have installed that's blocking it?
    Do the dots on the pizza disappear when you close or is something holding it open?

    Hmmm..there's no way that can be your vivaldi box. There's no lijne to indicate that vivaldi.exe is a forced program. There has to be more. Also, the Template=WindowsFontCache line was depreciated in a recent version. Cannot use without numerous errors.

    What are you talking about? My problem is that vivaldi.exe does not terminate when I close the browser window, not anything to do with downloads.

    Well you only get offered a download when the browser closes.
    I have no idea why vivaldi doesn't terminate for you.

    Only other suggestion I have is to look in Task Manager when you have terminated the browser and see if anything belonging to Vivaldi is still running.
    Also try in vivaldi
    chrome://settings/system
    and make sure ''Continue running background apps when Vivaldi is closed' is disabled

    Well I dont have any notifications from sites or extensions plugins that run when chrome is closed, even tho I have it on and yet chrome never runs when it's closed. Not like I ever close it lol. But maybe @n8chavez does have such stuff. And the browsers not closing is not a harmful thing, necessarily. It really depends on what extensions and stuff he is using.

    Do you use Sandboxie yourself?
    Because this is what the thread is about, and finding out reasons why browser termination in sbie is not happening.

    No i dont, I dont see a reason to sandbox ur browser, its not like ure gonna be targetted by attacks or anything.

    But, does the browser terminate outside of sbie, but does not in sbie?

    As you don't use Sbie there is no point in answering your question. or remarks.

    I believe @n8chavez issue could be related to a browser extension. The other day this issue happened to me using Chrome.

    Or try removing vivaldi.exe from LeaderProcess and just leave it as LingerProcess but not sure this would work cause I tried this years ago to fix a problematic program in a sandbox.

    I don't think this is the case. I tried disabling every extension and then closing vivaldi. The vivaldi.exe process still did not terminate.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I tried this too, but nothing changed. I'm starting to think there was a change in sbie that has caused the issue, because I used an old config that I know worked fine and even that one did not work right,

    Try removing them all of them not just disabling.

    Hi n8chavez. The standard fixes for your issue are. 1. Create a new sandbox and with default settings, run Vivalvi. The only setting that you should change from default is to set the sandbox to delete on closing. 2. Set vivaldi.exe as Leader program. 3. Check your AV or another security program that might be interfering with Sandboxie terminating programs and deleting the Vivaldi sandbox.

    Don't use the Default sandbox for Vivaldi, you should use a dedicated sandbox.

    Well, this has to be an sbie issue. Or it could be a chrome issue. I just tried Brave, using a sbie config I know worked, and it's having the exact same issue as Vivaldi; its exe is not terminating when I close the browser. I did not have any issues like this in previous versions of sandboxie.

    Well, whatever the issue is ... the issue may be spreading. Updated from 0.6.0 to 0.6.5. And now two Edge processes hang. Chrome & Firefox feel okay, at this time.
    png_9018.png
    I'll have to go back to 0.6.0 and test.
    Edit: my Edge is happier with 0.6.0. I'll post my 0.6.5 issues with 0.6.5 Topic.

    On a Windows 10H2 (in Virtualbox) I have no problems with Sandboxie x64 classic 5.46.5. and the chromium-based browsers Vivaldi & Brave. The sandbox is automatically cleared after closing the browser!

    It is the default configuration plus:
    Restrict administrator and main user rights
    Automatically delete contents of the sandbox

    Because of the restriction of rights for administrators and main users I only had to hide messages 2219 + 2220 (SandboxieDcomLaunch.exe) and 2214 (bits), but these 3 messages always had to be hidden (even on Windows 7 x64).

    For me, however, Vivaldi no longer work on Windows 7 x64 (Brave not testet there) with the latest Sandboxie versions, which is why I now have to stay there on 5.44.1 until David, who unfortunately did not respond to this, has fixed it.:
