For some reason this is the only place I can post. Is that the norm for being new? anyway I have a question that I thought should go some where else. I followed the instructions for removing smitfraudc but spybot still comes up with something that it is calling smitfraudc but the others don't. I also found a bunch of folders in my registry that probably dont need to be there, named (poker online, etc., etc.) I don't even play poker. Can I just remove all those files from the reg.?

    Hi Bodaddy,

I must assume you tried to post in the adware, spyware & hijack cleaning forum

That one is closed as announced here:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=42148

I recommend you find help on one of the forums recommended there instead of the trial & error method. ;)

Regards and good luck getting rid of the spyware,

    Pieter

    Welcome to the forums Bodaddy.

If you can post here, you should be able to post in any of the forums. [Except the one Pieter mentions]

A recent thread on Spybot and Smitfraud.c exists in the trojans and backdoors forums. It may be a false positive.
I'll move this to that forum.
