Hey Buddel, would you allow me some comment in a post from you in another thread? I hope you don't mind my friend! I'm also aware that I may not find the right words.

In the recent poll "Best MS Office Alternative for Desktop" you said about OE Classic in reply # 29:

I would say it is a promising one with great potential. It does the job. And it is very much looking like the old Outlook Express (which I liked very much, and it didn't have to be "Outbreak Express"). The translators are doing a good job! The beta updates are coming fast.
But several things have to be improved. I've mentioned some of them previously. I can only hope these will be addressed. And there is another question: don't you want your email client to be digitally signed?

 

Sure, but what really matters to me is to have an email client that works, one that does a good job. All the other things are nice-to-have additions, but not really essential. It should also be noted that OE Classic and its many features are work in progress. New features are added with every update, so this email client is getting better and better. I've been using it for more than a year now, and it has never let me down, it has always done its job.

I'm afraid that I disagree.
Those "All the other things are nice-to-have additions" are not only nice-to-have additions. Far from it. We can try to not look at them, but that will not help; those issues will still be there (unless they are addressed by the developper).

You should get in touch with the developer. He has currently lots of requests to deal with, but I'm sure new requests are always welcome. As I mentioned above, OE Classic is work in progress. Many features have not been implemented yet. If you think something is still missing, please contact the developer, who will get back to you as soon as possible.

The ReadMe.txt files for 20 Feb 2018 and 03 Mar 2018 are the same. They are supposed to tell the changelog.

 

There is no new changelog this time. Today's update is internal and has got something to do with the localization work.

You're right. Seems to be a minor internal update or bug fix.

And no newer changelog: the ReadMe.txt files for 15 and 16 March are the same.

Yes, it's out of beta now. The new version comes with lots of new features, including multilingual support.

Good.
But what's way more important:
1. Finally the OpenSSL libraries libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll are updated (to now version 1.0.2o). This has taken way too long. Let's hope that from now on those libraries will be updated when OpenSSL releases new versions!!!
2. Built-in SQLite updated to version 3.23.1.0.
3. That crazy old 7za.dll file is now removed. At least I see it no more in C:\Program Files (x86)\OEClassic\DLL\

So, those changes were very much needed and are welcome.

Anyways, good to see improvements!
And thanks also to the translators!
