    Just out of curiousity, so disabling Window CoPilot didn't fix the problem with Edge running in the background for you? It really sounds like a very annoying problem, MS should be ashamed for this.

    After upgrading to this version, I noticed that Edge would launch immediately when I clicked on its taskbar icon. Went to check Task Manager and could see that even though it was closed, its processes were still running in the background.

    I saw some posts on here talking about this a few days ago, but for me it just started happening today, with this new version.

    no issue here, but i use gpo to disable startup boost (see settings pages ago)

    If something works for you dosen't mean that works for all.....

    which was not worked for me.

    too bad for you is set for all machines here. gpo is mandatory, but there exist a lot of triggers to start edge if edge is not the cause - edge is involved in a lot of internal affairs. current from today via GPO (reg-file)

    In the macOS edition, the toggle is defaulted to disable. Furthermore, the same toggle functions as expected.

    Thanks!

    I noticed it was disabled on one of my other machines and it worked as intended, but for some reason clicking the toggle on this PC does absolutely nothing. Same goes for creating a .reg key for the setting in question. Go figure... :rolleyes:
