"Launch Malwarebytes in the background when Windows starts up" seems to have been enabled again.

Thanks, Krusty. Been happening since the update to version 4.5.8.191 back on April 19, 2022. I forgot to look for the changed setting today, so your reminder is appreciated. :thumb:

If you have it set to disabled it really shouldn't re-enable itself after each update in my opinion.

    Hello @Krusty @ @Page42

The Dev team is aware of that current issue. Let's see what happens in the next beta.

Heads up for users who install the latest update. Once again, the Windows startup setting gets changed to "Launch when Windows starts up" if you had it set to not launch on start up. Still doing it.

I wonder if it is not intentional.

MB (two machines) update first time now, previously always took two attempts (with a scan in between).
Seemed like first update was signatures, etc. and second update software (with app restart).

    I have all protections off.

    Hello @paulderdash

1.) The MB4 loss of setting issue that @Page42 and @Krusty experience after an app update has been acknowledged by Malwarebytes staff and disappointingly was not prioritized for yesterday's release.

2.) A database update issue developed when a Malwarebytes contract CDN made changes that were sporadically unsuccessful. Those issues have now been resolved and might have been related to your issue.

For the record, Windows startup setting is once again changed from disabled to launch. Starting to look like that's the way they want it to be.
