    Hi
    i 'm using ti9 last built

    but i can't understand why
    1) when i restore an image , ti9 puts the mft data random in the wrong position
    2) when i restore an image , i found a huge huge reserved zone for mft

i'm looking for a program trusty that when i restore an image take care about position of the mft and the reserved zone

    what could i try?

    thanks

Maybe you should try ShadowProtect Desktop.

Try macrium reflect, it's free and as fast as true image. I don't worry too much about MFT, so I'm unsure how macrium reflect deals with it. But you can try it and see if it works to your advantage, for me it has currently replaced true image as my favorite imaging software.

It's amazing (to me) how many people in Wilders find problems with ATI. :doubt:

I've used ATI extensively (v8 through v11) and always found it to work properly and reliably. Last year I switched to DS (Drive Snapshot) because it's a lot faster performing backups & restores than ATI and for no other reason.

I don't know what mft or reserved zone means. I use Acronis version 8, it is very uncomplicated if you just want to create an image of the entire harddisk or restore it.

I think that you have to register online.
How? I really don't know, because i don't have experience with it.

But activation is online and the product is free.

Maybe you should try on their forum.

Are you sure you have the right version? The free one.

It sounds to me like you didn't download the free edition, but the trial.

the free version you have to register online, which is as simple as connecting to macrium servers and it will tell you it's register. No need to type in any personnel data.

The free version is full featured including the bootcd, even the scheduler works on it. It only does full partition backups, doesn't do incrementals.

Let us know how you get on. I've been trialling it and it seems good but then I've not checked for the things you mentioned earlier. I'd be interested to see what you think.

With Macrium Reflect free can you restore a single file or folder even though you must do a full image backup?

I had terrible problems a while ago after installing GAOTD full version for MAcrium Reflect : unexpected BSOD and so on. It was because Reflect installs a filter driver that is active even when you don't use the software, and there was probably a bug or incompatibilities with this driver.

    I would either recommend :
Drive Snapshot (not free) because it doesn't modify your system
Image for Windows (not free), because it is rock solid
    DriveImage XML V2 : free

I also had bad experience with O&ODiskImage 3, and the publisher never acknowledged the issue. Nice GUI and recovery CD though.
