What are some easy to use free imaging programs???

What are some easy to use and free imaging programs that I can back up my computer with

 

Paragon Drive Backup Express-but you will have to make the effort to learn how to use it-none of them are effortless.

 

If you have at least one Seagate drive in your machine, you can download
Seagate DiscWizard for free. It is a basic version of Acronis
True Image. That's what I started with, and it worked so well, that
I eventually bought the full version from Acronis.

I second Drive Backup Express. I tested it recently and IMO, it's pretty straight forward. It backs up to hard drives only though, so if you were wanting to use DVDs, you'll need to look elsewhere.

Hard drive is 120 gigs and I have the Windows cd that has SP2 on it. I can't load into Linux because it says something about my graphics card. Its an ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.

 

Window's is using what percent of the hundred and twenty (you'll need some room if you wanna store an image)?
Which distro failed (graphic's is typical), and what sort've internet connection are we talk'in? Answer ALL.

One more thing - you CAN successfully burn an ISO, correct?

Clonezilla should work fine, but it's not the most intuitive software to use. I just used it on Vista here to image my HD 1. It worked well on XP also. If you can get thru the prompts, and use mostly the defaults, it may work for you. There may also be some online help, not sure.... best part is, it's free...

 

How can I tell what percentage its using, Ubuntu 7.04 was the distro, I have Verizon Fios for my connection its wireless to my laptop and I never burned an ISO before.

 

You answered all question's good. In my computer rt clk your drive - properties. Or, see post thirteen.
PS - You've probably burned music cd's before. Confirm you have and include which burning soft.

I think the extra features of the full Drive Backup Personal are worth the small purchase price though. And I am so cheap that I download and use the free trial for 30 days, make a final image on day 30, them wait another period until I feel like I need to make another image or find a promo offer for 25% off.

I have 85.71 gigs usable.

 

So thirty-five or so are used by XP. Tell me, you got movies, music, and pic's gobbl'in up that space, stuff that could be moved off to a partition outside the OS? For example: a music or movie folder holding say .... ten, fifteen, even twenty g's worth? To say, the OS with basic app's, security, whatever else you're accustomed to using could be contained inside eight, maybe fifteen g's, thereby effectively reducing image size, space consumed, and recovery time? You follow?
