    humm...this topic looks familar ;)

Well...i think my avatar actually found me. There i was surfing some new boards when i came across this pink square with blue eyes (picture Mew all stretched out to fit a 90x90 avatar space) ewwww...it was crying "save me! save me!"

So i took it home and cleaned it up, gave it its shots, fed it, then made some li'l hats to put on it now and then. Kind of grew on me, so i kept it! :D

I stole the basic design, mutilated it beyond recognition and had a pro (well, she should be) make it look acceptable again. ;)

I made mine, literally. It started out a piece of white dyers cloth. After I dyed it I photographed it and scanned the pic into the computer. I then manipulated the pic to be the correct pixel size for an avatar.

:D Thanks spydespiser. Love the 1 with his head spinning. Wish I could use it as my Avatar. Too big (197x154 pixals). Do you know how I could reduce it to 60x60? I tried with Kodak Imaging but couldn't do it. Any help appreciated. :D :D

I surfed free avatar sites and found this one.

Why a wolf howling at the moon?
    A few reasons for me...
    Howlin' Wolf of blues fame.
I saw a wolf about a mile from my house while driving home from work a few years ago.
He was huge and never flinched!
His just watched me from a bare hayfield.

Hey that Beetlejuice avatar is cool!!!
    Nice find!

Anyway as i was saying in Opera before it collapsed around my ears:D
Hi Beetlejuice, sorry for delay i've got to use AoL's browser again for a mo,, technical probs and all that! :D

    Where was i,Oh yes. :D
I dont think i could be much help on that front as i'm pretty new to all this posting and stuff meself, i think Snapdragin is the little animator amongst our ranks, she did something on a mispelt one in FAQ
Also in there are a load of tips and diff' methods of doing stuff ;)

RE: 197x154 : i think when you upload it it just get squashed to 60x60 so it shouldn't be too bad, maybe the other peeps have some info/tips&tricks on that for U
Edit- maybe it would come out proportionately i.e approx 60x45 :-/
    Sorry i couldn't be more productive :)

Hi Tester , nearly had that one meself to tide me over :D

Anyway and good luck, if i come across anything of importance i'll post it

Looks like its back to Gremlin killing in Opera now :D :D :D

See this thread regarding what the board software does about avatar uploads.

Since that avatar is not square, you must start by getting it square before resizing it, otherwise it'll really mess it up. Here's a square version with little or no quality loss. However, reducing the size to 60x60 may really lower the quality unless a pro (like snap) does it.

I don't have the skills to do very much. The animation was probably not a problem, but I couldn't get it to work with animation.

Don't give up on me yet. This version animates one cycle and then stops the animation.
