Okay I'll get straight to the point, i installed DriveClonerRx v6 on Win7. It said it could backup the Snapshots made from RollBackRx. So i went further and it showed the option to backup entire snapshot.I press next then it showed the error, "GetProtectedDiskPartInfo is false".
    Error.jpg
So how can i get over this problem, i really need to backup the snapshots.
A backup of the snapshot is essential and last time i chatted with a guy from RollBack said, they h' stopped any further sale of Drive ClonerRx, which i think is foolish in there part.
I really need to backup the snapshots when it is still hot. I have been using RBRx from 2018.
    Awaiting reply from anyone.

hmmm, so this sucker already had a problem with "GetProtectedDiskPartInfo is false" error.
I never saw that post, actually i have lessened my touch with pc. Maybe i am getting old.
But i realized there never can be a bullet proof backup and imaging solution for a pc. But rather a layered protection is essential; i realized for my need.
But an image(backup) of a pc is utmost essential for at least pc literate people. I don't h' the latest and the greatest hardware, i only h' a decent pc. And my knowledge is not so much.
But thank you moderator and testers for the link, it was helpful. After a few weeks time, i was planning to buy at least 3 more licenses for RollBackRx. ohhh man, it would have been awful.
Thank you for your time. Wildersecurity is a good place. :thumb::thumb::thumb:

@pinso - as you've learned, this issue has been around for quite a while and I believe was the final straw for Drive Cloner (they could never solve it). In saying that, there are some in-efficient ways of doing System images that include snapshots. Almost any System imaging program that includes a "forensic" or ALL SECTOR mode can do this successfully (Macrium REFLECT and Drive Image Backup & Restore <newer IMAGE FOR WINDOWS> are two that come to mind). The snapshots will be preserved in the image but the image will be sizable due to the fact that the entire RX protected partition/volume will be imaged.

There are Forum members that participate in the ROLLBACK RX v11.x thread that use these techniques to image their Systems. You might wanna bring this up under that thread as well.

Yes, as usual Froggy is right on spot...

Don't forget that this "Forensic" backup needs to be a COLD backup invoked from your recovery medium. A HOT forensic backup will not work.

I do this all the time using either Macrium Reflect or Acronis True Image, both work equally well. Such backups will take time (several hours for my 500GB HDD), and they will be big. Although the size will decrease if you wipe the free sectors of the HDD before making such a backup. When the free sectors have all been overwritten wit Zeros then the compression feature of the backup software is much more effective.

...and I would like to add, from my experience during the Drive Cloner v6 BETA testing process (a basic disaster, BTW)... when I compared the Drive Cloner images which included the RBrx snapshots to, as @manolito describes above, cold imaged "forensic" images taken following the process of ZERO filling (while under the LIVE System) of "unused sectors," the two images were very close in size. They were close enough to state the effectiveness of Drive Cloner w/snapshots to be mediocre at best compared to the forensic images.

Diskwizard from seagate will also do this and its free. However it will only work on seagate drives.
