I'm currently using 4. It can be set manually to a number higher than 7 in "about:config", but I don't know how to measure the impact. It might make a difference for folks who keep open large numbers of tabs, but generally I only have four or five open at a time. Here's some interesting info:

Suggestion should take into accoun how many CPU cores do you have.
I have 2 physical/2 logical, so set 2 processes. Although maybe it is not so simple, because inside content processes there could be a few/little of threads.

    Hi

I just installed FF 57 beta 7 and tested it at www.browserleaks.com/firefox

    No leak noted

So confirm 'No Resource URL Leak' not required

    Thanks

It's URI, not URL leak by the way. ;)

    Thanks

But the https://browserleaks.com/canvas test is no good as compared to my chrome browser which shows a pretty clean sheet

    It shows fingerprints despite having.

    CanvasBlocker
    Shape Shifter

    See test result below

    Canvas (basic support) ✔ True
Text API for Canvas ✔ True
    Canvas toDataURL ✔ True
    Database Summary
    Unique User-Agents 177962
    Unique Fingerprints 6250
    Your Fingerprint
    Signature ✔ 16896AAD
Uniqueness 100% (0 of 177962 user agents have the same signature)
    Image File Details
    upload_2017-10-13_13-59-37.png
    File Size 4820 bytes
    Number of Colors 323
    PNG Hash 98E7312913AF3A35617B04A4F174421F
    PNG Headers
    Chunk
    Length
    CRC
    Content

    IHDR 13 477A703E PNG image header: 220x30, 8 bits/sample, truecolor+alpha, noninterlaced
IDAT 4763 16896AAD PNG image data
    IEND 0 AE426082 end-of-image marker

In Chrome browser I'm getting the below

    Canvas (basic support) ✔True
    Text API for Canvas ✔True
    Canvas toDataURL ×False
    Database Summary
    Unique User-Agents 177962
    Unique Fingerprints 6250
    Your Fingerprint
    Signature n/a
    Uniqueness n/a

Anyway to minimize the fingerprints further? Thanks again

Maybe better asked here, but I have CanvasBlocker configured to fake the canvas fingerprint, so it is normal to see a fingerprint, it just isn't the real fingerprint.

also using CanvasBlocker - using "whitelist" which is emtpy ^^ website -> canvas -> fail
at least it seems i have not met any website which uses canvas for its functionality.
currently i switched to canvasblocker and with this setting i can work on my router interface which canvas defender prevents.

Firefox 57 - Trick or Treat?

A beginning of an end, or a nag of a begging? What. What will happen to Firefox come the 57th edition? The answer to that lurks in this review of Firefox 57 beta, development and nightly builds in anticipation of the formal release, with focus on looks, performance, the new WebExtensions addons framework, other features, the future, and more. Have fun.

I feel the review would have been more complete if you had gone into the performance and security improvements more.

    Quantum is coming in v57

    http://www.zdnet.com/article/mozilla-firefox-57-is-so-fast-were-calling-it-firefox-quantum/

    Multi-process is sandboxing tabs.

    http://www.tomshardware.com/news/tor-browser-7-multi-process-architecture,34695.html

Also one of the reasons for webextensions is to limit the access of extensions to the browser for better security.

There's a separate article coming on the perf thing - it's overblown as all browser benchmarks.

if you had read my previous answer - that site is only another opinion about firefox 57 - everybody wants to have one, but most of all are personal impressions and expressing personal frustrations. spreading negativ feelings about something which already has been decided a year ago is not helpful. i try to help people over it, they just need to ask!

if you felt concerned because its your site, dont worry, all getting fine at least june 2018 ^^
