This is very refreshing to hear! I remember Mamutu I think it was called from years ago I really liked. I haven't bought Emsisoft because of price and they don't have any family-packs or anything. Sadly, I need to cover 10 devices due to wife and kids and need to buy product with family deal or I pay too much. Otherwise I really love this and use Emergency Kit to clean systems fairly often and love the ethics and support of the Emsisoft people. Sad for me because of 10 devices but good for everyone else!

My bad, i should have known better :ninja:
I think i overlooked the word "not" in the sentence "You do not loose max. 3 files" somehow, so i wrote "you can lose some files" above.
    Corrected.

Thanks, I will ask for more info in the HMPA thread, because I can't fully visualize it.

How does the combination of EAM with VoodooShield perform? Coming back to Windows after a long period of macOS, so I guess it's time to work on the security setup :)

EIS which is basically EAM works great with Voodooshield.

A great combo I think. Same configuration as 'digmor crusher'

    In the same situation ...
And after some months, I got a corrupted Windows so yes, working on a security setup is a good thing, without falling into paranoia and accumulating layers of protections. As Dan (VoodooShield) said, a quote from Chopin: "Simplicity is the final achievement.”

Thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely go for that setup then. One more question, any reason to add something like HitmanPro.Alert in the mix? On one hand I don't want to impact performance on my new Dell XPS too much, on the other hand I'd like to be properly protected (I don't do anything particularly weird on the system, just some machine learning dev work, data analysis and generic dev work). So EAM/VS or EAM/VS/HMP.A? FYI - I tested the EAM/HMP.A combo in a VM, which worked fine, unfortunately I deleted the VM and didn't get to test EAM/VS/HMP.A combo.

How about EAM vs EIS? I understood Windows Firewall is 'good enough' and EAM is enough? Is there a huge impact of running EIS (memory/cpu/performance)? Is the EIS firewall at least as good or possibly better than the Windows Firewall?

Will leave the EIS vs Windows firewall question for someone else, but I can confirm that EAM (and previously EIS), VS and HMP.A anti-exploit work fine together on my primary system.

It mostly depends on whether you want or require more flexible control. Both the Windows Firewall and the EIS firewall are built on the same technologies. So there is no inherent advantage in either of them. If your system will be behind a router the majority of the time and you don't require the more convenient outbound control, EAM + Windows firewall is probably superior to EIS.

I also have a lifetime license, but have also been wondering.
I like that it alerts new startups, but I have enough other softs to cover that - and it seems to use a lot of CPU sometimes.

Never saw anything close to this before (for one PC):

    Emsisoft Internet Security 2017 [1-PC, 1-YR]
    Includes a 1-PC, 1-Year license
    MSRP: $49.95
    Save: $20.00 (40%)
    Our Price: $29.95

    http://downloadcrewstore.com/p34832-emsisoft_internet_security_2017_1-pc_1-yr

NB: Renewal at year's end would be approx $37.95 cuz of Emsisoft Loyalty Program = %25 off first renewal and %25 +%5 for each subsequent year.

I understand that there are new global rules in the new build. Are EIS users to revert to factory default setting so we can have the new global rules in place?
