Multi. I have not yet looked into the DS threads on how to put DS on a IFW usb boot media, so if it is not to much, could you maybe explain how to.
https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/kb-articles/adding-programs-to-tbwinpe-re-builds/ But a quick and dirty method to use DS for restores is... Put snapshot64.exe in the root of the Win 8,10,11 UFD or in a partition Boot from your Win 8,10,11 UFD Next On the Install now window, click Repair your computer Troubleshoot System Image Recovery Windows 8,10,11 If you have a Re-image Your Computer Window, click Cancel Select a system image Next Advanced Install a Driver Drag the Add Drivers window to the very top left corner of your monitor and then click OK double click This PC (drive letters may be different from booted Win 8,10,11 ) Navigate to snapshot64 (extensions aren't shown). Right click snapshot64 (the Application, file extensions aren't shown) and choose Open. click Cancel on the "Open" window click Cancel on the "Add Drivers" window Drag the "Re-image your Computer" window to the bottom of your monitor so the Drive Snapshot window is in full view Drive Snapshot is ready to use.
I saw that before in another post of yours but i want to get it on a IFW UFD. I know i have seen it somewhere so i have to find it.
This is the tutorial for adding programs... https://www.terabyteunlimited.com/kb/kb-articles/adding-programs-to-tbwinpe-re-builds/
Yes, EASTER. You'll find a lot of very useful scripts in the two threads. Brian developed a lot of scripts for me. I'm still using some of them in a couple of variations on all my computers to this day. We worked on them for days/weeks/months. I made some requests for a few things, and Brian managed to work it out. I tested lots of them. I remember early on there were a few little bugs, mainly due to lack of documentation, or not clearly clearly defined documentation. There was a problem early on. Putting "--UseVSS" in the script solved it. Strange though, because the default GUI setting is "Use VSS only if exchange writer is involved (default)". The "Always use VSS if available (--UseVSS)" option is above it. I think the main talk about DS scripts started around about here on page 50 in the Drive Snapshot new releases thread. There was also a little bit of script chit chat prior to that. After that, the rest of the DS script talk continued for many pages at the beginning of this thread.
I use Method 2 as it's easy to maintain and update. By the way. The C:\TBWinRE folder path is wrong in the tutorial. It should be: "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\tbwinre" Also. TBLauncher.ini can be edited directly from the "C:\Program Files (x86)\TeraByte Drive Image Backup and Restore Suite\tbwinre\config" folder instead of using TBWinPE/RE Builder to access it, if you prefer.
Strelec resumed his development, new website new url new release Code: Home https://sergeistrelec.name Version history https://sergeistrelec.name/version_history_en.html Releases https://sergeistrelec.name/winpe-10-8-sergei-strelec-english/
Yeah maybe someone forgot to update that page. Code: https://sergeistrelec.name/winpe-10-8-sergei-strelec-english/219-winpe-10-8-sergei-strelec-x86x64native-x86-20221207-english-version.html
Hi Is there a way to make restores smoother, a script maybe, when using DS, now it is an awful lot of clicking to accomplish one! I have looked at the DS homesite but i could not find anything that, at least to me, looked usefull.
have you tried the command line? Code: restore a volume Snapshot X:\C-DRIVE.sna C: -Y - Answers all questions automatically with "Yes"
Thanks, i will take a look at it. Is that from the home site? All with yes, then there will be no reboot?
Got the latest downloaded. Works perfect as the previous one i use for Drive Snapshot- I rarely use anything else in it's menu unless i'm zeroing out a hard drive than use one of the programs, any of them really to NTFS the blank.
I was about to try this and also the command i got from Tom after my mail, but i can not even find the Command line gui. Help please.
There is no command line Gui. Open a command prompt. Go to the where snapshot.exe is located and run it. See here.
Ok, i made it this far. Can you please give me an example of how a full command would look like based on your post #339. I can not figure this out. Also, your command do not look like the one on the site and, where in all this does the Y go in?
Just add the -y at the end. If you issue snapshot.exe /? you will get the help and there are some examples there.
I am a total novice at this so the learning curve is steep. I hope you have patience, willingness to help out, educate. Could you please show how a full command line would look like when having done a standard backup with DS standard backup file name etc, and therefore a standard restore, from D: drive with a folder of 1 backup where the folder is called, DS avbilder. It is my birthday today so... please.
Happy birthday A backup with DS does a whole partition or disk. In your backup folder, is there a file that ends with .SNA ? If so, I need the entire name. Also, what partition did you backup?
Thanks . This is what`s in the mentioned folder: 1.hsh 1.sn1 1.sn2 1.sn3 1.SNA HD1-1.sna HD1-2.sna So the standard backup is stored in D: in a folder named DS avbilder. Yes it has important data, it is my storage partition, besides C:, the Os.
Before doing anything that might be regretted later, what do you want to restore? You can mount the 1.SNA as follows to see or copy files. snapshot "d:\DS avbilder\1.sna" z: -V when done just exit the small snapshot GUI that appears after issuing the above command to un-mount the partition. HD1-1.sna and HD1-2.sna looks like you did a complete harddrive backup. Is that correct?
I want to restore the whole backup that it produced. I downloaded and used the program, as is, no changes. Therefore i called it "a standard backup". I just clicked through DS to start a backup without doing any changes personally.
