ron I dealt with a friend's AMD win 10 machine this morning with this issue (win flag at boot and nothing else)

I force closed machine 3 times to get the repair install which then started machine again.

    Downloaded wushowhide.diagcab from this page

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...t-a-driver-update-from-reinstalling-in-window

Ran wushowhide and selected kb4056892 from list, Rebooted with internet disconnected.

Ran wushowhide again and rebooted with internet on. It's okay so far and shows Win updates are up to date when I ask it, so kb40506892 is hidden at the moment.

This wushowhide and reboot may have to be done twice (this one did)

    Will await more developments.

I have mine disconnected from the internet until tomorrow's update. Hopefully, they repair the problem.

Hopefully but given the recent state of things I would be sure to runs backups on a daily basis until some of these issues are resolved.

Just set your network connection in Win 10 to "Metered" on. This will prevent any Win Update downloading until turned off. You can then check for updates manually. If KB4056892, then run wushowhide as shown in reply #26. Then set "Metered" to off, to allow manually checked updates to download.
