can someone help me?

    whenever i try to open a folder, my screen flashes and then everything disappears. after a little bit it all comes back though. and when i open internet explorer it opens then closes really quick. i can only go on firefox. i scanned my computer with spyware doctor and registry mechanic and i deleted everything but the problem is still there. can anyone help? :'(
