I installed the optional Cumulative Preview (KB 5027293) and the .NET Framework one. Took maybe a minute? which is nice. Had the regular cleanup to do. Winver for my 10 drive is: 19045.3155.

Installed the Preview update including the .NET framework and language pack on my Win 10 rig. Two reboots required. No issues so far.

I have a habit now of after an update reboot pressing the 'check for updates' again.

On the odd occasion there is another one....

I would say that's the rule (.NET update) in the case of Preview updates.

Have you tried Settings...Ease of Access.. Keyboard and make sure the slide button to use Print Screen to open snip tool is off. (It's near the bottom of the page)

DEFCON 2 is crazy advice when all but W10 22H2 users will be left unprotected. Who believes this click-bait?

The first update took five restarts to complete and when I logged in, there was a black screen for five minutes until Windows informed it was personalising the settings! After that, the desktop loaded.

I had to restart for the second update, this took one restart and when I logged in again, Windows loaded pronto.

This time a completely botched update on my Win 10. They all installed without rebooting, then rebooted and froze at 91%. I waited about 20 minutes. Nothing happened. Hard reboot and again freezing at 91%. Another hard reboot and freezing at 96%. Three more hard reboots and always freezing at 96%. I gave up and restored the comp using Macrium. I postponed the update for a week.

It's the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5028166) that causes the frozen PC at 91% of installation after reboot.

How to exclude this update from being even downloaded and installed? I tried the Show or Hide Updates tool but even though I hid the update it continued to download and install what actually forced me to again restore PC. Pretty lost ...

Have you tried running SFC (system file checker) just in case?
    Also DISM ?

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
Is it necessary to run DISM then?

No time to even leave the table as DISM swiftly returned: No component store corruption detected :)
