Bazooka seems to get some decent ratings from users of download.com though i'm puzzled by the disk scan time which some say takes as little as one second. if that's the case then it isn't scanning the disk - perhaps it's scanning memory?

has anyone here tried it? what do you think of it? have you found it useful?

I find Bazooka to be a helpful scanner to have around. Even though it has a limited amount of detections, and you have to remove the spyware manually, it is still a helpful app for another opinion.

Don't underestimate Bazooka. It has indeed a pretty small definition database and a very fast scan time, but when it reports something, it's always a serious malware.

well that was short and sweet - 2 second scan - nothing reported :)

(didn't confirm Disspy's analysis - but then i get the impression that this is a specialised scanner)

  7. Have you seen that ever happen? I haven't.

Yes, I had once a CoolWebSearch variant on my computer and I got rid of it by following the manual removal instructions on Bazooka's website.
In those days I had a very low security I.Q. and never heard of CWShredder.
SWI and certainly Wilders educate me all the time and I'm a little slower than the rest, because I have to translate every post and my posts : Dutch -> English -> Dutch (I still think in Dutch, not in English).
So Wilders improves my English too. :)
