Strange update behaviour

Installed English version of NOD32 2.70.23 - downloaded from NOD32 Registered User Downloads Page.
I think, this is the latest engl. version at the moment.

But the automatic update still attempts to do an update.
It downloads the engine0.nup file from several locations.
Download from one location finished, then it changes location
and downloads the same file from the another one.
That continues endless.

Why does automatic update want to update when latest engl. version
already installed ?
Why the cyclic endless updates progresses for enginge0.nup file ?

I suggest you do the following :

1. Goto Control Panel-> Add/Remove programs and Uninstall NOD32

2. Reboot

3. Goto C:\Program files and manually delete the folder ESET

4. Open Control Panel -> Folder options -> "View" tab -> check Show hidden files and folders. Press OK .
Check if you have temp folders as mentioned here
Run Windows Disk Clean-up to remove all the temporary files you have on your computer . After it is loaded , check everything possible to delete and press OK. Open in Start->Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Disk Clean up

5. Perform a Winsock repair as described here and reboot after that

6. Download a fresh copy of NOD32 v 2.7 for your correct operating system

7. Install NOD32 from the file you just downloaded in step 1
Use Typical settings

8. Make sure you have stable i-net connection and NOD32 (nod32krn.exe) is allowed to go through your firewall and Update NOD

 

Thanks for the hint regarding temp directories.

Just last week I have moved my temp dirs to another partition.
And SYSTEM didn't have yet access privileges to new temps.
Now the update works.
