    Hi,

Just fy: I sent out invitations to participate in the tests of av-comparatives to about 25 companies. I do not expect that all companies want to participate, but I will test as many as possible (= do not continue to bother me if some company is not included / does not want to be included ;-).
I hope that the new products (like FProt4, OneCare, KIS, HBEDV, etc.) will all be released before the 4th February in order that the new versions can be included in the tests.

    regards,
    IBK

I wonder why they don't want to participate? Don't they have any confidence in their own product,or they just want to hide from the obvious?

I think this time you the results will be not be out before the 1st March, as testing the 18 products takes this time more days than expected.

    Question

Will these tests include removal ability or just detection rates?.

    Detection Rates.

And for the polymorhpic test my personal guess will be that symantec will be very good due to the fact that Peter Ferrie, Peter Szor working there :D

So we should expect Symantec there within the top 3 ;)

Interesting point. The average user would want/need their anti-virus to successfully remove any infections.
Wonder what the outcome would be in a test like that?

I finally purchase KAV 5 after months of reading all the great things about KAV. It will just be my luck that NAV will jump ahead of KAV in the new tests. Everyone will jump on the I love NAV bandwagon. Then I'll have to purchase NAV, because it's #1. Oh how I hate AV tests and comparisons. o_O Oh well, on the bright side, I got KAV at Newegg.com for only $24.99. :)

Dont worry mate, you have made the right choice. Nav has always had good detection rates, thats not the main problem of this antivirus. ;)
