I never said that i was rule of thumb, in fact I consider myself of somewhat of an exception.

In trying to make the software work for less experienced users I just hope the core user base is not forgotten.

Every good software should have options so that users that are technically inclined and less technically inclined can use by selecting the option that they want....a good example is perhaps Bitdefender which has auto pilot mode for normal user which can be turned off.

Well I see NVT saw your point, and looks like will end up a win win.

There was no mention of MPC-HC in the Events tab.

I like that...If i'm installing something I either use the trust mode 1 hour option or until reboot which should be fine for most users.

I've just started a 30 day trial of NVT and see that there are 116 pages in this thread! I'll try to read them all, but the first thing I need to ask is if anyone sees an immediate conflict or duplication in my 4 main security programs running now: Webroot SecureAnywhere, AppGuard, Sandboxie, and NoVirusThanks EXE Radar Pro? Thanks.

Nope. Closest thing is appguard. If I remember correctly Pete2150's Fav combo is Appguard, NVT and Sandboxie. He has everything running smoothly NVT and WSA together and never had a problem.

May be a bit of overkill. I run ERP, with Appguard and Sandboxie.

To get ERP to work with Sanboxie you need to add this to the Sbie ini file for each sandbox. OpenPipePath=*\mailslot\NVTInj\*

    Isn't secureanywhere a whitelisting program?

I don't use WSA. Only other thing I have beside the above trio is OA with HIPS deactivated, and EMET 4.1

Thanks for the tip, after adding that line to the ini file NVT/Sandboxie worked as they should when tested.:thumb:

WSA is an AV with cloud heuristics and roll-back features. If you are comfortable with just the 3 other programs, then I'll take WSA off during the NVT trial period since I actually prefer running without an AV.

Not to go off topic, but how long have you used EMET -- and on which computer?

I put 4.0 on and took it off, to painful. 4.1 is working fine one 2 xP boxes and 2 win 7 x64 box.

    SUGGESTION

Sometimes, CmdLine and Parent lines are too long and can not be shown completely in popup window (even when you stretch it).
It would be nice to show complete path by mouse (pointer) hover.

It would be good to include messages like 'Protection disabled', 'Mode x enabled', 'Mode x restored', etc. under Events tab in order to easier track settings changes.
The icon for such events could be yellow triangle with exclamation mark.

What do you guys think about it?

    NOTIFICATION TEXT BUGS

Go to Menu-Settings-Restore and select "Last permanently enabled".

    1) Select Disabled mode permanently. Choose any other mode for 10 minutes.
After restoring, notification text is "&Disabled Mode has been enabled".

    2) Select Lockdown (Basic) mode permanently. Choose any other mode for 10 minutes.
After restoring, notification text is "&Lockdown Mode (Basic) has been enabled".

    3) Select Lockdown (Advanced) mode permanently. Choose any other mode for 10 minutes.
After restoring, notification text is "L&ockdown Mode (Advanced) has been enabled".

    4) Select Lockdown (Extreme) mode permanently. Choose any other mode for 10 minutes.
After restoring, notification text is "Lo&ckdown Mode (Extreme) has been enabled".

    5) Select Trust mode permanently. Choose any other mode for 10 minutes.
After restoring, notification text is "&Trust Mode has been enabled".

Please, remove '&' letters from messages.

    QUESTION

I have noticed that, when you manually enable any other mode than default Alert mode, there are no more baloon notifications in the tray.
    Older versions had those messages.

When those modes are re-enabled automatically we get the notifications.
    o_O

Is that by design or a bug?

Do the latest release and beta versions still phone home every few hours to check the licence, as happened with a version from around March 2013 ?

Apparently , the developer was going to remove this behaviour but I wanted to check ?

Download link for the new build 13:
    http://downloads.novirusthanks.org/files/EXERadar_Pro_x86_x64_v3.0_09092013_BUILD2_V13.exe

    @siketa

    Fixed.

    Fixed.

    Fixed.

I'll update the help file after v3.0 has been officially released :)

Personally I do not like it, in the Events tab we should only save process activities and actions, so all the columns are filled. It can be created a separated tab but not sure if it would be really needed (you can get the reason of why a process was allowed in the Events tab anyway).

    @Defenestration

ERP checks for updates everyday, you can disable this option. ERP checks for the license validity every week, it should not hurt your connection as it needs only 1 or max 2 seconds to execute the HTTP request.

I have a laptop that I use with a second monitor. If I use it with only the screen of the laptop (no second monitor), sometimes when I open the ERP window I cannot see it. I am guessing that it is showing on the second monitor since I see a small flash on the laptop screen when I click "show window." Most of my other programs seem to sense that the second monitor is gone and open on the laptop screen but ERP doesn't. Could ERP be adjusted so that if there is no second monitor it will show on the laptop screen?

It's not a massive issue, I know, but I'm not a fan of apps that phone home (or online activation in general).

Plus, there was talk in the forum previously that you were going to remove this "feature" ?
