Ok it's back this is what I did. I could not delete the prevx file in C:\Program Files\Prevx\Prevx so I use fileASSASSIN to delete and did a reboot and it was gone so I installed 3.0.0.199 then it showed up on the lists and then I installed 3.0.0.241 and all is fine now o_O

As reported in post #279 of this thread WinPatrol is still flagging Prevx.exe as a malicious process which should be removed immediately.

Hmm... For the "Automatically remove blocked files"-option it says this on the help-page: "This feature is only enabled for registered users of Edge who have cleanup functionality enabled in their license.", but it sure wasn't enabled for me when I registered my copy back then... Does it infact mean "available"?

    Hi Joe

Build 241 installed a breeze...and so far the freezes ezperienced with Build 199have not manifested themselves. Earky days I know but so far (fingers crossed) it looks promising.

Have noticed that resource usage also seems to be down on previous build...that is good too!

Keep up the good work! :D

It does depend on the order in which you install or enter a license, etc. The feature is disabled if you don't have a cleanup license but can be further configured if you do.

Very interesting - definitely something to keep an eye out for :) I'll forward the information on and see if we can find anything wrong!

We have contacted them but it looks like they have to whitelist each new version as they're generating false positives on every release. Not a whole lot we can do at this point but once we release the new version officially, we'll try and get them to remove the FP on it again.

Sorry Joe, been drinking and watching basketball all day. This weird thought came to my head. Why not have the OTHER guy make their software compatible with Edge. Yours, is the one heading to the top, not theirs. Resources my friend, resources.

    Go Duke.;)

Well we are trying to at least make it as easy as possible for them to correct their software :) Some of the more mundane incompatibilities we have worked around successfully without having to get the other vendors involved (which is always easier :D)

Would it be possible to add to the Menu to Submit Possible Malware for Analyzing?

We're going to have a website for doing just this but it isn't finished yet :) For now, you can forward samples to EraserHW or PM me and I'll get you some email addresses you can send them to.

    Hi again,

I seem to have a problem if Prevx runs with DefenseWall - Firefox gets very sticky when scrolling down pages. Might the beta solve my problem?

I'll PM you a link to the beta but someone else has had a problem with DefenseWall as well. It would be useful to get a cross-report tho :)

Primarily password protection in the GUI and some internal improvements to the scan engine :)

It seems like everytime I restart or something, the option "Create a desktop shortcut" gets unchecked. o_O Is this proper behaviour since the shortcut is already in place, or could it be a bug?

"Create a desktop shortcut" is an on-demand feature, it will let you create one as soon as you click Save Changes (so, if you do delete it, you can recreate it at any time)

Question... If I'm a registered user, should the option to automatically remove blocked files be checked since I can restore them later anyway? Otherwise the infections - that you choose to block yourself, of course - will just still be on the system and may cause later double-detection by other security software, if any is present.

Suggestion: I would suggest that both "Save and automatically apply Block actions" and "Automatically remove blocked files" are checked but greyed out by default since both of them are in effective use only when you're registered (I'm refering to the sentence "This feature is only enabled for registered users of Edge [...]" of the help-page...).

So, in other words, it's created when you check the box and click Save Changes, then is automatically unchecked after that?
