Regarding Java, unfortunately I need to keep them for a couple of old developed applications that are still in use, I certainly don't need them for current activities.

Just downloaded and run the last beta. Is there any reason why I didn't find any of the exclusions saved in previous weeks?

    Hi digenfr1:

What is your definition of a "normal installation process"? If your Calibre program is installed in a custom location that is not recommended by the installation wizard [e.g., C:\Program Files\..., C:\Program Files (x86)\...] then I would not call that a "normal" installation.

If Calibre is not installed in the default location [e.g., C:\Program Files\Calibre, C:\Program Files (x86)\Calibre] then did you add the path for your Calibre installation folder to History & Settings | Custom Locations?

    Hi digenfr1:

This is expected. Tigzy's post # 1248 about the new UCheck BETA-2 v5.0.7.0 released 15-Dec-2023 states "Exclusions refactoring: Now has different types (file, folder, program). Downside is the old exclusions are wiped."

All my exclusions that I created in previous version of UCheck were deleted the first time I ran the latest BETA and I will have to re-create those exclusions.

OK... thanks. Since there wasn't a reply there I wasn't sure if you saw it or not.

And 2755 for me. Used to be 70,000+.

And with latest beta, exclusion or skipped list seems to have been cleared. I had whittled it down and stabilised to zero updates, now its back to 108 updates.
Will have to work through the list again.

Edit: Including some programs 'location unknown'.:cautious:

    Hi @Tigzy :

I am using UCheck BETA-2 v5.0.7.0 (rel. 15-Dec-2023) with Administrator rights and the latest iTunes for Windows v12.13.1.3 (rel. 15-Dec-2023). UCheck classifies my iTunes as Compatible / Installed but incorrectly (?) recommends an update to a newer v12.13.1.13.

I've attached a UCheck scan log and debug log from my latest scan on 17-Dec-2023 @ 6:50 AM.

    A - UCheck BETA-2 v5_0_7_0 Installed Tab Latest iTunes v12_13_1_3 Outdated 17 Dec 2023.png

    B - UCheck BETA-2 v5_0_7_0 Updates Tab Latest iTunes v12_13_1_3 Outdated 17 Dec 2023.png

I updated to the latest available iTunes for Windows v12.13.1.3 (rel. 15-Dec-2023) yesterday by performing an over-the-top update using the full offline 64-bit installer (iTunes64Setup.exe, ~ 200 MB) from https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/itunes.html. Note that I use the iTunes for Windows application that is installed with a .exe executable and not the iTunes UWP app from the Microsoft Store.

    F - Win 10 Pro v22H2 File Explorer iTunes64Setup_exe v12_13_1_3 17 Dec 2023.png

I am not aware of any iTunes for Windows BETA v12.13.1.13 being released by Apple, and a Google search only found one reference to this newer version at https://www.techspot.com/downloads/4722-apple-itunes-for-windows-64bit.html.

A check for updates from within iTunes (Help | About and Help | Check for Updates) and the file properties at C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe all confirm I have the latest available iTunes v12.13.1.3.

The fact that those install fields exist does not make them a rule. Unfortunately. Microsoft could have enforced a rule by requiring entries, but it did not. Typical Microslop. But it's the reality your own customers have to live with. And it's a reality you need to live with also because, realistically, those installers are never going to get fixed.

@Tigzy No-one else seems to be reporting this problem, but there is something awry with the latest beta for me.
Prod version 5.0.6 shows 71155 in Community list, latest 5.0.7 beta 2821, as also reported by several others above.
But more importantly, 5.0.6 shows 0 updates available, latest 5.0.7 beta (with hard limit now 1050) shows 107 updates, which I'm sure I had either updated or excluded in previous beta.

Isn't the answer in the release notes?

In c:\programdata\ucheck you will find exclusions and ucheck_exclusions

I think this is again the same issue, you're not supposed to add to your Custom locations places where there is installed programs. This is your responsibility to make things separate.

Yes, because the exclusions format has changed to accept files and folders. Unfortunately we had to deprecate the old file

This issue is now fixed, and will be in the release (no BETA, we release this week before Chirstmas)

Sorry for this... If you talk about portable apps, then it's going to be easier for you with folders exclusions perhaps.

Hi, did I get this wrong or ?
For me, if you tick out "Up-to-date", they are hidden...

    000842.jpg

But this is what I get:

    000843.jpg

See that I'm at the end of the list...

Removing the tick means it won't display up-to-date software based on your screenshot showing only Outdated results that's how the filter works.

    Hi duf666:

I also raised this problem about the display filters in my 03-Oct-2023 post # 283 and 05-Oct-2023 post # 307. See Tigzy's 05-Oct-2023 reply in post # 314.

I think the problem we're having is due a limitation of software Tigzy uses to create the UCheck user interface because Tigzy cannot add radio buttons to the user interface and must use a combination of check marks to filter results shown in the interface. If you only want to see applications on the Installed tab with a Status of "Outdated" you have to uncheck "Up-to-Date" but leave "Community", "Installed" and "Microsoft" checked or all the "Outdated" applications will disappear. That is because the filter shown below is looking for "(Community OR Installed OR Microsoft) AND NOT Up-to-Date". NOTE: If you only want to see your "Outdated" apps it is easier to just look on the Updates tab.

UCheck BETA-2 v5_0_7_0 Installed Tab FIlter for Outdated Only Correct 18 Dec 2023.png

Unfortunately, if I re-check "Up-to-Date" (i.e., to only see applications with STATUS = "Latest") I see applications with a STATUS of both "Outdated" and "Latest". That's because the filter shown below is looking for "(Community OR Installed OR Microsoft OR Up-to-Date)" and my two outdated Community applications, Microsoft Office 2019 and Microsoft Edge that I am trying to filter out are "incorrectly" filtered in because they meet at least one of the filter criteria of being a "Community" application.

UCheck BETA-2 v5_0_7_0 Installed Tab FIlter for Latest Only Incorrect 18 Dec 2023.png

I don't know of any combination of check marks with the current UCheck filter that will only display applications where STATUS = "Latest".

    I miss:

    ScreenToGif portable version.
It's placed in the same folder as my other portable apps, but UCheck don't find it.

    Listary 6 installed version.
It's listed as unsupported by UCheck and the community.
Am i the only one using this brilliant app, or is it because version 6 is in beta.
