    Among these is HitmanPro.Alert too. Therefore, there should be a switch within it, allowing it to be turned off completely or temporarily. I use this for that purpose, which is only good as a temporary solution. After each of these, a restart is performed.

    disable_hitmanproalert.reg:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hmpalertsvc]
    "Start"=dword:00000004

    enable_hitmanproalert.reg:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\hmpalertsvc]
    "Start"=dword:00000002

    Can you DM on this me before we do a topic hijack here (assuming you are referring to the AV detections on Nirsoft).

    Handling of suggested features or implementation, as well as reporting of apparent bugs (not beta version reports, etc.), on this UCheck effort would greatly benefit from setting up a public project on GitHub. This thread, the existing UCheck forum on the Adlice Software site, and Adlice's ticket system are not well suited to the task. The GitHub project would use the issues and discussion facilities for this purpose, without any code except for a simple readme.

    Adlice Software already has a presence on GitHub.

    The following is an example of such a project that I am familiar with:

    Hi digmor crusher:

    See Tigzy's 14-Sep-2023 post # 4910 in Kyle_Katarn's SUMo : Keep your software up to date requesting feedback from SUMo users as well as the download link for the latest UCheck BETA v5.0.4.0 in Tigzy's 25-Oct-2023 post # 640 in this thread.

    If there's a better way for BETA testers to provide feedback to Tigzy before the next stable release of UCheck starts rolling out, or if Tigzy only needs feedback about specific features that have been added or revised in the latest BETA, then that needs to be communicated. It's a bit difficult to know what specific changes we should be testing because there are no release notes posted for BETA versions, and successive BETA releases often have the identical version number even though they behave differently.

    @Tigzy

    Has this finished yet. I still have a couple of programs that are showing as up to date, but they show a "Latest" version that is not the latest.

    I also noticed that in the latest beta the upper scan button has disappeared. Is that intentional?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    The beta version actually terminates UCheck when you close the GUI and requires a new scan when the program is restarted. When the GUI is closed on the UCheck production release, the UCheck process continues in the background and you can ropen the GUI and the displays from the preceding scan will still be present. The production release needs to be terminated from the Quit option of the tray app or the Task Manager.

    I am use to running SUMo in a fully manual mode - no automatic check (the equivalent of a "scan" in UCheck). This is so I can come back to the program with the same displays available later if I don't want to deal with an update immediately or I need to do something else.

    I think most folks understand that if you have not done a current scan, the server may have some additional updates and their display may not include the change. This is true even if you have configured automatic rescans at periodic intervals which is what running UCheck in background is intended to support.

    Last night I installed the program "XENU's Link Sleuth", a community program. And, this morning UCheck advised me of an update. SUmo has yet to do so. Way to go UCheck. It will be nice when/if UCheck can detect all updates that quickly. Keeping my fingers crossed.

    Some people do care about their type. And visually, it's also easier to know if some software are not detected

    We're currently searching for a free bug/features tracker for all our software, any good services to propose?

    This is the difference between installed and portable versions of UCheck. The BETA is portable only for now, but once it's released you'll retrieve this behavior if you update your installed version.

    Unfortunately speed is a matter of how many users have it installed, and how fast they install the new version

    Good point using Github for that, however can we vote on features ?

    It's still there, replaced by a more discrete "refresh" icon-only button

    I see it now. Don't know how I missed that. I was looking for a "Scan" button.

    Thanks,

    Yesterday I installed QuickInstaller. Today it shows on the Installed tab as unsupported. Why isn't it showing as "Community only"?

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Same here. QuickInstaller is probably not popular enough (yet) to be labelled "Community only", so UCheck regards it as an unsupported niche app.
