I am considering adding a second browser to my desktop. My main browser is FF, which I intend to keep and use as my main browser. Has anybody here had experience with Vivaldi on Linux Mint - problems etc? I have checked the Linux Mint forum. There are some (not many) unresolved issues, so I am still interested in Vivaldi.
I switched to Vivaldi when IE started identifying itself as Edge. I use Bookmarks very often and the access to them with Vivaldi makes my life very easy. I've never had any problems. What have you got to lose - give it a shot. If it isn't to your liking there are plenty of other choices.
Due to what google are doing, Vivaldi built adblock support directly into the browser. If you go to the "Privacy and Security" section of the browser settings, then look under the "Tracker and Ad Blocking" section, you will see a button "Manage Sources". Here you can enable your preferred mix of blocklists or add your own.
Tnx, I was aware of that and have taken it into account. Will stay with the Vivaldi built- in one until I have had more time to investigate options, but if I am happy with it, I'll stay with it. Is that what you have done? I installed Vivaldi using terminal commands. No problems. Nice browser. I just noticed there is a thread on Vivaldi here - MS focused though.
There is this thread: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/vivaldi-desktop-browser-stable-releases.451302/ But there was also this one: https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/former-opera-ceo-launches-vivaldi-a-new-browser-for-power-users.372796/ I recall that in that second one, there were quite some post by Daveski17, who uses Ubuntu. I remember Vivaldi being called Bugvaldi, a few times.
Bugvaldi Tnx for the links. On the second one - not much useful there on Linux/Vivaldi after 2022. Linux forums have tons of posts on Vivaldi - a good many solved issues, which is encouraging.
