Is Gorhill still around? I wonder if he has ever heard about such a weird corruption of uBlock?

I still wonder how to fix it, I copied the profile folder of another Vivaldi installation and I somehow did manage to get a working uBlock extension. The problem is, all other extensions were erased and thus somehow not copied.

And bookmark and browser settings were also erased, and I realy don't feel like having to reinstall Vivaldi from scratch. In other words, I need to know which folder I need to copy or doesn't it work like this? Isn't uBlock installed in a specific folder? :doubt:

With Chromium based browsers, I always copy the folder called "Default" from the profile.
    Code:
    C:\Users\[your username here]\AppData\Local\Chrome\User Data\Default
    Always worked here.

Except for Opera, where "Default" doesn't exist. There you have to copy the entire profile AFAIK.

I updated to Thunderbird 78.4 portable and UBlock 1.30.7b2 to do further testing and element zapper and picker modes are now working again.

Thanks, but what I'm trying to figure out is if uBlock is installed in a certain folder. This would mean that in theory I can simply copy uBlock from another Vivaldi profile. But I have a feeling it doesn't work like this. Also, I can still remove and install other extensions without any problem, so why doesn't it work with uBlock? This seems to be a case of major file corruption, I wonder what Gorhill thinks about this. It does install, but I get to see a blank screen, see screenshot. This only happens with my "Person 1" Vivaldi profile, uBlock still works correctly in other profiles.

losing cookies for no reasons for several sites, incl this one
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/cookie-retain-only-24h.432810/

changed cookie extensions, no luck. losing is not depending on time, just happens.

firefox and chromium, firefox/chromium with different extensions. happening since firefox 81, more or less around it arrived. chromium later than firefox, could be release cycle. i need to lock cookies with another extension than CAD. (cookie autodelete)

thank you, i read that also on reddit, but default is false on v82. and this wont explain why it happens now on chromium too. ublock is the only major change here between those browsers - the release cycle for chrome is behind, its either 1.30.4 or 1.30.6, not before. the only thing i can test is an older ublock version which is easier for firefox then chromium because chrome store has no archive, i need to grab it from github and use the extracted file. (repackaging seems also possible, crx+pem)

hours later, Chromium, uBo 1.30.2 instead current .6 - lost again a cookie, again this forum

Please refer to the following web page for 1Hosts lists:

    https://github.com/badmojr/1Hosts

Those in the Filterlist contain incomplete information.
Lists marked as "Complete" are no longer developed.
The "Lite" lists are not present.

    @nicolaasjan

I wrote an email to Andrea Draghetti (PhishArmy List) to check the possibility of a list dedicated only to HTTPS domains.
If this possibility exists the new list would have "few" rules.
It could be adopted very efficiently instead of the Spam404 list by Raymond Hill.

Nowadays probably most phishing sites are served by HTTPS, because there is easy way to obtain certificate for free.

Most links to phishing content and even malware are HTTP.
You can check it out for yourself:

    http://phishtank.org/phish_search.php?valid=y&active=y&Search=Search

The situation for links to malware content is even more in favor of HTTP.

No I don't think it's related to that. I'm guessing there is something wrong with Vivaldi 3.4, but luckily I have been able to fix the problem by manually installing uBlock via "developer mode". I must say Adblock Plus and Ghostery are pretty good, but uBlock is clearly better so I'm glad it's back in business. However I'm planning to enable less filters to avoid stuff being broken.

Check in FilterList if the lists you enable are compatible:

    Vivaldi.jpg

For example the urlHaus list has a "specific version" for Vivaldi:

    https://gitlab.com/curben/urlhaus-filter#url-based-vivaldi

Probably for many lists the internal block option is best.
