why does this forum set a cookie for user name (xf_user) that only retain 24h while session do not expire? I have to log in each day and this turns to annoying now. correction, is only 8h expiration time Code: 25-10-2020 15:34:32 we have currently 16:38 MESZ (germany), i assume server 9 hours behind because i get a clearing notification for Code: 25-09-2021 22:34:20 which is 8 hours ahead (also MESZ, germany)
Don't pay any attention to that. Just login like normal. I think the cookie thing is there for people who have not created an account. I've checked keep me signed in but it doesn't work for me either. It probably has something to do with my browser settings but it's not such a hassle that I want to mess with it. Two clicks and I'm logged in again.

i re-installed an older version of "cookie autodelete" (3.4.0) extension for firefox, but also "cookie quick manager" and set the xf_user cookie as protected (no delete). The expiration date of that cookie is now counting up and on 10/29/2020 now (set on 10/26/2020). fingers crossed.
