    Last patch Tuesday 'Upgrade to W10' came down as an optional (recommended) update for W7 and W8.1 systems via WU/WSUS. Even though it was pre-checked, I have not heard much or seen much on its impact. I did not receive it on my W7/32 or W7/64 systems and no-one in my family received it. I checked with friends and they too did not see it.

    This patch Tuesday I did not receive it either - I called around again and no-one I know received it. Some small business support websites did report domain-connected users having seen it come in. MS announced that they were going to do this, so it is not a sneak attack.

    MS may have refrained from widely distributing 'upgrade to W10' this patch Tuesday as there are so many other patches on the menu. I read that MS was concentrating on sending out the update to those you have reserved W10 from way back, but had not received it as yet, so that may also be part of the explanation. MS said that this could take months, so the sneak attack 'upgrade to W10', may be on hold.

    Can anyone help me, please? I finally can surf the net with Microsoft Edge, I went on microsoft's website where it told me what to write at Windows Powershell as administrator, I did that, Microsoft Edge works now, but what now does not work is Windows store, Skype and similar?
    It seems like it is installed but it's all blank, I cannot open any link regarding Windows store and apps, does this have to do anything with Windows powershell that I used to enable Microsoft edge to open and surf normally, can anyone help me?
    Big thanks to all in advance.

    Cognitive dissonance is very strong on this thread.

    ...At least give us the link from "Microsoft's website" or the command you "wrote at Windows Powershell". Although a new thread would be best.

    I will open the new thread, but on which sub-forum, what do you recommend me? Hopefully, there will be people that might help me, and I promise I will write the exact command that was recommended on Microsoft website, but I'm not sure if I will be able to post here again by the end of the week, the new thread will be posted, most likely, next week.
    Although, to be honest I truly don't know where should I post about this truly minor problem.
    Big thanks in advance.

    Why not try this thread ...
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/threads/windows-10-issues-problems-solutions.378465/

    There are a lot of people with W10 experience who have posted there. Hopefully they can help you find a solution. I'd take JL's advise and provide more info.

    I read this article by Ed Bott this morning. I can not access the Forbes site as I use an Ad Blocker on my browsers - and I am not going to turn them off due to the number of domains hosted on that site (as in huge). Ed Bott attacked Woody Leonard on his views not too long ago too. It is interesting that those two collaborated on many books in the past, but now they seem worlds apart when it comes to their points of view, especially when it comes to Microsoft.

    Im astonished. Two articles on the same topic subject, with two completely opposing veiwpoints. Seems like this was a direct reaction to the one by voat.

    Seems like something is going is on. Today ghacks again posted an article stating that;
    source; http://www.ghacks.net/2016/02/11/mi...ement-full-windows-10-data-tracking-controls/

    Later today an edit/update to the article was made stating;
    The original article on forbes; http://www.forbes.com/sites/gordonkelly/2016/02/11/microsoft-makes-windows-10-u-turn/#15f748483974
    The best way to hide the truth is by numerous blatant lies. Misconception as a result, fills the voids to make even the truth a lie.

    regards.

    You know guys? With all the mistrust and suspicions (not to mention peripheral issues and such) that seem to be taking front and center in anything Windows 10 being discussed, compared, or even raved about, get a load of this.

    I'm fully ready for Windows 11 now. So what's taking them so long?

    I can't help, but have a similar problem. If I click on an APP or the Store, the screen blinks but nothing appears I had the same problem with the original upgrade, but it was fixed with the 1511 upgrade. Now apps and the store don't access again. On another point, I installed a dictionary when all was working. After that I noticed that my HD was always working and the light on my computer was always showing activity. Strange things started happening which I can't remember now. I decided to try and uninstall the dictionary, realizing that things went screwy after the dictionary was installed. The computer calmed right down when the dictionary was uninstalled. I decided that I don't want the app crap at all. and would like to take it out if possible. I seem to remember reading about a way to eliminate the app portion of WIN10 but can't remember how. Can anyone tell me how it's done?Thanks.

    @twl845 You can uninstall Windows apps with IObit Uninstaller (just make sure you uncheck the option to install some other IObit software when you install it). With its batch uninstall feature you could select all the apps you want to uninstall and then it will go ahead and uninstall them one after the other and then scan for any leftovers.

    You can also use CCleaner to uninstall most Windows Applications too.

    My problem is that it is pure blank, heck I can't even uninstall since I cannot click on Uninstall, basically Windows store and apps are there, but than again, they are not there at the same time.
    Weird.
    I will post my problems on the link someone else gave me, so I'll see what to do.

    Hi, J_L, it's nice to see you on the forum, here is my through description of my problems, I posted on another Windows 10 thread:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thre...roblems-solutions.378465/page-20#post-2564811

    I posted here my problems with Windows store and apps and features:
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/thre...roblems-solutions.378465/page-20#post-2564811

    It seems that only microsoft's apps and features are blank.
    Yes, they are there, but when you click on them, well you cannot click on them,
    You know what all of these microsoft's apps or most of them it seems are no longer on my computer, does it mean that I have somehow uninstalled them, but how exactly is that possible if they are actually there, but at the same time they are not there:
    Like I said, I have tried to click uninstall but the uninstall option is BLANK.
    I'm not sure, I think that I after they did not work I might have written this in powershell:
    Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers| Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}

    But again I'm not100% sure, so how do you know if apps and features are uninstalled in the first place? And if that's the case how do reinstall all of them-if I choose to?
    If Microsoft's apps and features are there, than why than don't work at all in the first place?
    Big thanks in advance to all posters who can help me.

    I tried to uninstall default apps, but the uninstall option is greyed out. Weather as an example.
