It seems a lot of people are in the same boat as your friend :

    There's some 'basic' malware cleaning instructions here <basic = a lot of work> :

    http://www.dslreports.com/faq/8428

If you can't clean it using those, you may have to resort to posting a HiJackThis report. Castlecops.com has a forum for such posts.

There's a good writeup on 'why did I get infected in the first place' here
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=27971

Some links to reputable anti-spyware (including HiJackThis)
    http://castlecops.com/t6393-Hi_Jacking_Spyware_Links_Tutorials_amp_FAQs_05_15_04.html
and a link to general computer security resources
    http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/main-nf.htm

Hope it helps as I don't know personally how to remove Spywareno. (someone else may reply who does)

    Hi larr,

From the sound of things you have been hijacked and need to post a HJT log. You may also want to try the steps in general cleaning.

I am afraid we no longer allow the posting of unsolicited HijackThis logs as per our Posting Policy stated in this Announcement. However, you will find links in the Announcement Post to several other sites that still do provide HijackThis log analysis service.

Some of the bigger forums for HijackThis log processing, (meaning they process more log threads each day than many others) are: CastleCops.com, Net-Integration.net, TomCoyote.org, and SpywareInfo.com.

Whichever site you decide to go to, please be sure and follow their posting policy before you post your HijackThis log.

Let us know how you do...
